I fancied a quick game on my Dover career, which is actually going quite well, so I loaded it up and went straight to the game and asked my assistant to pick my team, although I was playing against a better team I was really confused as to how they scored 3 really awful goals that the keeper honestly should have stopped... until I realised that my assistant had put my AMC in goal. This experience has improved my FM education, now I will check my team each time I get my assistant to pick in an attempt to avoid these 3-0 defeats.
Once I had similar situation when I asked my asistent to pick a team and for some reason he picked a CB for golkeeper position. :O X-(
Maybe because your keepers weren't avaliable?

Your assistant wouldn't do that for the sake of it!

In my game there 2 goalkeeper s avaliable.
I don't know I haven't got the best assistant he might just be that bad :L I don't think I had a spare keeper but my first team keeper was fit and ready to play.
This happened to me when I was Tottenham! Wilson Palacios was in goal :) I still beat Sunderland 4-3 though
