Additional fee to complete transfer!

Something just happened to me right now, that i've never seen in FM!

I manage my team, Sporting CP, and during the January transfer window I sold my left winger Douglas Costa to Olimpique Marseille!

So I went on the market to fill that gap and found one player that you must all know very well! Edin Hazard from Lille! Made a proposition to him, Lille accepted and so far so good!

But after a few days, I get the message that he wants Lille to pay him something like 16.000€ per week, until the end of his present contract with Lille, which ends around 2014 (i'm in the 1st season), and he turns this demand into an ultimatum!!!!! meaning he only accepts to leave his present club for this weekly fee!!

I was wondering if this is usual, has it happened many times to any of you ??

Just hope that Lille is ok with this, or else i'll have to search for another one! :|

Yeah it's happend to me a few times, only with selling players though;

When i'm offloading them to lower league clubs they'll often demand money from their current club - in order to accept a pay cut at their new club

Just figured it out!! the salary I proposed with his contract was inferior to the one he had on Lille, even if it was just by 1000€ or so! I guess the greed for money doesn't know any boundaries!

Yeah this happens quite alot to me, i always agree to it unless their contract is like 2 years plus, i often reject and they still manage to move...

I had it when I was offloading ancient players when I joined Man. City a few years in. But due to massive funds I just accepted their demands. No point arguing.

Lille didn't had massive funds, but they accepted anyway

I guess Hazard was unhappy or something like it!
