I have got a few ideas about it too.
Firstly I think you should be able to give yourself (the manager) more of a character. What languages you speak, what clubs you have managed, maybe even if you are married or not.
As LFCYNWA34500 posted, the conferences should be made better. More questions, more answers. I often get the question if I am trying to buy a specific player even though I have made no offer or even looked in to buying that player. However, I think that if you want to buy a player you should be able to tell the media about that.
The tactics are good in the sense of set pieces but I think making specific plays would be really fun. For example if the goalie has a goal kick you could tell him to kick to a specific player and then you could tell that player to pass to someone else . This would be great in helping you develop the special style of play that you want. If you want to play like Barca with their triangles or like Tottenham with their fast wingers.
I also think you should be able to decide how much a shirt/ticket/merchandise costs depending on how much money you have. Even though raising the prices a lot wouldn't help, raising them a tiny bit would get you a bit more money.
Set pieces could also be worked on like where to exactly shoot the ball instead of just picking near post, far post etc. Plus how the players move when the corner, free kick, throw has been taken. For example you want a very tall person to score from a corner. You can decide that the person who takes the corner shoots at a specific place and then make the man who is going to head the ball run there.
I also think there should be some kind of youth academy (players 14 and younger) so that if you know you have a big talent on the way, you could train him harder and he will get better.
I don't really see how adding more information about you as a manager will add something to this game.
It is already possible to tell the media if you want to buy a player (Go to the players profile and clik interaction -> talk to press)
It would be very complex to add such tactics to the game, as with too many options for tactics, people would have a very hard time to find a good tactic.
The merchandise/ticket/shirt costs are probably already optimised by the game to give a maximum return, so there is no need to be able to change these. Additionally, I do not think that managers should be able to change this as this is not the job of the manager at all.
You are already able to select how the players move when a corner or free kick has been taken. You should go to the tactics screen, then click on "Formation" and change it to "Corner takers". From that window you can click "Edit Set Piece Instructions" which guides you to make a corner tactic
However, I do agree with what you say about the Youth Academy! I hate it how some regens show up at their 21st or something, not giving them the chance to debut at an earlier age or for you to shape them to your tactics.. Maybe to reduce the size of the database they could only show your team's and maybe your feeder club's youth academies, while all the other players appear at their 14th. (Not 7 years later!)
