FM08 Digital Download and Utility Compatability

I just purchased FM08 as a digital download from direct2drive.co.uk. Can someone confirm that the digital downloads are structured differently from box installations and hence utilities will fail to work with it unless it is explicitly compatible?

For example FMM 2.25 says its compatible with 8.0.2 FM08 boxed and WSM digital download but not FM08 digital download.

Can anyone explain what makes the difference?

Any can anyone tell me if there is a utility that IS compatible?

I get read data error id 1073, what can I do?
Look to the top right, find and click the triangle. You are into the Options now, so just change the version to FM 8.0.2.

go there and choose ur version.

The tip about the version change triangle was good However, it misses my point. I have a digital download not boxed version. According to Jpee's compatibility listing it is good for boxed but doesn't mention digitally downloaded apart from WSM. I'd much prefer someone told me I was doing something stupid as opposed to Modifier just won't work with my version but I think its not going to work....

Any other ideas RedArmy20?

You can digitally download games from services such as Direct2Drive.

I personally got my Digital Download from Boonty.

I did this because I wanted the Football Manager and not WSM version.

How ironic that the WSM digital download is supported but the standard Football Manager one isn't!

I hope compatibility can be added for the Digital Download FM08 version!

If you mean get the digital download of Football Manager from SI Games , I live in Canada and can only get the WSM version online. Although now that I think of it, I don't think there is one!
