Most quality regens are the same position. Is it a bug?

First of all sorry for the title as it may not be a bug but my problem is that currently i have a few save files with different team where i have completed several seasons or more in all of them but notice i have a problem with regen players at the start of every season.

My problem is not the amount of them or the quality of them but my problem is that all the decent/good ones are mostly all the same position.

I like to have a big database for versatility, When i start a save i load the main european leagues such as, England, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Portugal and Scotland.

After the 3rd season is when i get the most and best regens and they are all SC or DMC- Good attributes and realistic i feel but same position and if i am lucky enough to get a good regen in the youth team it is always a GK or DL

Sometimes and very rarely good MC's are created but always find these are from leagues i have not loaded up from south america or russia/turkey for example

In one of my previous saves i went up to 2020 with Man utd to see how much money they make when loans were paid off in 2019 and all my team apart from the SC's were 28yrs/29yrs/30yrs old where as my SC's are 20yrs/21yrs ( I could not get any decent regens in any other positions)

This for me is a little fustrating in the game but i dont mind the challenge, Do people have the same or have i just been really unlucky?

I guess you are just unlucky :). It seems that more good strikes appear than the rest of the positions, but I think this is because of the fact that strikers are more expensive, so they kinda get promoted more.

In the last save that i played till around 2029, I had a midfield comparable to today's Barcelona, I guess you have to search more, don't look just at PA, if you are using Genie Scout, but also the stats they have for the position, I had players with 167 CA/PA keeping those with 185 on the bench :).

Yeah i suppose ill try and search more with lower values, i am not using genie so dont know their potential abilitys

I go to the player search in the game and put age at most 16 years old and the top 10/15 players are mostly strkers,

I suppose Strikers would generally be valued more anyway

If that is the way you search, definitely you will only get strikers :). Try creating some predefined filters for all positions/roles, then you will find players relevant to a certain role that you need for your tactic, or for regens.

What I do when not using Genie is searching manually through the best academies in the world, for example some clubs in Brazil, Netherlands Spain etc, takes time, but it is sometimes worth it.

I see what you mean Tomy, I will try and spend a little time searching position criteria to see what are the best regens in the game on each position.

I have stopped using Genie for a while as i feel it takes a little bit of fun-ness out of searching for players.

i do like buying a player where my scouts say he is average but after a season or two in the first team or on the bench turns out to be a good player or even world class, But sometime can be the other way round and scouts highly recommend a player which i buy and he turns out to be average. Lol!

my problem is that i can get wingers and DL, but not strikers or goalkeepers, for instance, in my Liverpool season i had a DL called Tony Weir, played his first match and he was first choice for the next 3 seasons..and i brought a regen from Walsall called Robbie Parkin was a right winger, but could play striker, he was immense, was exactly the same as Weir, thought i'd take a shot and sell both, and i got £35million for both of them. Never had this happen again though
