Anyone had success with Balotelli?

I've now just started my second season in FM2011. I have Balotelli in my 'B' Team, playing cups and early Euro Games.

So Far so good, but everybody seems to only have had negative experiences with him.

Has anybody actually managed to maintin and develop him into a first choice striker? If so any advice would be welcome.

I share the same problems, On My Man City saves i started up from the first season and managed to have a few good seasons for him but in middle of 3rd season he started getting unhappy and wanted to leave the club. No reason for this, some players want new challenge or or get unhappy because you dont give them new contract but Balotelli just gets unhappy. I really dont think you can do anything about it. he must have really low temprament and high Contraversy attributes

Best of luck keeping him happy as he is potentiall a quality player

That's what I'm worried about, I'm playing him alongside neymar and so far it's exibition stuff, the last game was 2 lobs from balotelli and neymar is shipping through defences.

I don't want to build a team around them and them it all goes pear shaped!

What helped me a little but not a lot is every season i was giving him a new contract which kept him happy for the season but he still gets 'content with life' and morale is at most 'good', i have never been able to get him superb morale, dont worry about money with man city so give him loads of money, you could also try to make yourself one of his favourite people by asking him if he could reccomend a signing or coach? they dont have to be anygood but as soon as you sign them you should be of his favourite persons

Thanks for That, I'll give it a try, kinda goes against my grain to pander to him, but it almost seems like a challange to see who can get him on-side and get the most out of him.

I've been playing him as a deep lying playmaker and it seems to suit him, also let him hit the penalties, which is keeping his rating/ happiness up.

yeah, i see how that could work, he loves long shots, he can bolt um in from 25/30 yards and free kicks is quite useful.

I am like you and dont like to molly coddle players, i am a big fan of discipline but i think Balotelli is just one of those players you just cant get through to as a manager ( i suppose just like mancini in real life )

On my saves where i am not man city mancini or who ever in charge of man city tend not to use him and after 2 seasons he is transfer listed but is not sold as no one can afford his £100k p/w wages.

keep working at him though because it sounds like you are getting some good performances out of him.

One thing that im glad about is how realistic this is because lets be honest in real life Balotelli is never happy i mean he had an alright game the other day against inter milan took his head out of the papers and then he comes out and says he hates manchester and wants to go back to milan so really its very good in a sense that he is never happy in game or real life.

I think the best way to get the best of Balotelli is to sell him for a good fee and buy someone better. He's not team material

Well , i'm playing my 7th season @ ajax. Bought Balotelli in 2014 for € 2,4m.

2014-2015 : 30 matches, 25 goals
2015-2016 : 30 matches, 31 goals
Today = 2016-2017 : 23matches, 19 goals.

Morale has always been very good - superb.
He has a heavy contract (400k/month and 16k/goal) but he won the CL , Eu Supercup and the club's Worldcup for me.

400k !? dude you need to spend your money more wisely... I've become the dominant force of the footballing-world on numerous ocasions with diffrent clubs and usualy with a wagebudget around 1mil p/w and my top earners getting no more than 100k/w unless he's extremely good... keeping the top earners down means that new players won't ask for as much either... how do you manage to keep your finances in order at all, Ajax is after all a weak financial organistation compared to the top of Europe?

I assume he may be a little worse on FM2012, His temprament and discipline is awful in the game and real life but as stated above he does score the goals
