I am looking at exploring new formations on FM2011(If I start a new game) I always use variations of 442 where i push a defender up(352) or drop a striker back(451) So I was wondering what formations you guys use mostly?
I usually use 451 with three CMs in the middle.

I also sometimes use the standard 442...boring, i know, but good for lower league clubs.
4-2-3-1 Used other Ones but Always come back to this.
I use 4-3-1-2 often if I'm playing with a decent club, or a 4-1-2-1-2 if I need to revert to a different tactic.
4-1-3-2 control, good balance between defence and attack.
4-4-2 Diamond is my favourite. Though I play many formations, mostly with wingers.
I tend to play a 4-1-2-2-1 (4-DM-2CM-2Wings-1) or a 4-1-2-1-2 (narrow diamond with no wings), they both work well and have countless variations!
My first tactic would be diamong 4-4-2 because I like having att.mid and 2 strikers and my second favourite would be 4-3-3(4 defenders-3CM-2Wingers-1striker) because it is really good tactic for lower teams in my opinion.
One tactic I used to love on other football manager games was 4 1 2 1 2 but it seems impossible in fm to achieve. 2 cd 2 fb 1dm 2 am(playing cente and moving to the wings) and 1 playmaker and a Forward and a Striker. Any ideas?
my two fav tactics would be 4-4-2 because it means you have a good strong midfield and 4-3-3 because it gives you plenty of options in attack and up front
4-2-3-1 because it seems to me that it does the transition from defence to attack very good, and 4-5-1 (4 defenders, DM, 2CM, 2 inside fwds, st). I just think that 1 striker formations are better, just like in real life.
I'm playing with QPR and I've brought them up to Prem League. I'm going with 4-2-3-1 (Deep), because it provides me good stability at the back. In the front, I like having fast attackers who can break quickly. Sometimes I use a targetman to break down opposing defenses as well.
Any 4-2-3-1 works for me.
Nothing in particular. I tend to build my formation around my current best players.
Usually some sort of 4-4-2 (4-1-3-2, 4-3-1-2, etc.)
4-3-3 Brazilian League. Corinthians :)
