Hi all, I am quite the newbie on FM and I am having a bit of trouble with selling players...

I haven't gone jumping in putting players on the transfer list but I have read about people selling players left right and centre, I am in my 2013-14 season with Tottenham and I want to sell some of my players that are getting older to leave room for younger players on cheaper wages, for example I would like to sell Kranjcar and maybe Dawson.

They both play well and are under 30 so I am trying to cash in before their values plummit, yet when I have offered them to clubs there seems to be no offers. It's just strange how people get crazy transfer fee's for players they don't need without hardly trying.

Hope this made sense ^^ Any replies will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Not much that you can do. If there are no teams interested in them they would be hard to sell, especially given they would be on huge wages. You can transfer list them and hope some teams come for them, but then you would have to settle for lesser transfer fees.
I always have trouble selling players - big time - there have been times I struggled to give them away. I ended up doing a mutual termination on some just to reduce my wage bill.
Thanks for replying, I don't think I will be giving mutual terminations as I did this in the first season just to clear up the wage bill. But at the moment I am well under wage budget I am just worried as though I think the older players can be useful, especially in some big games, I don't like the way their physical stats drop.
On the other hand I will probably keep hold of them for back ups or maybe give them some more time on the pitch, hope they perform and try and sell them on in January.

And of course hope some nice regen's come in their positions at the end of the season :D
Thanks again for the replies Paul and Red ^^
Usually a player can be sold if he is playing really, really well. If not, then the younger he is the easier he is to be sold out, but with the older players with high wages... there are serious problems, just go to player interaction and tell them that you'll transfer list them, make sure no asking price is set, then wait, if teams become interested then you can probably sell them at a decent price, if not, try 75%, 50% of his value etc.

I had problems with Kranjcar as well, but still managed to get like 5/7 mils from Lyon, but i had to pay a small part of his wage too.
Yes it seems to sell a player they have to be playing good. Not very often do I get bids for players at all despite having good players while the players i dont want end up getting termination of contracts just to free up wages.
