England produces bad players

I'm in my 2024 season with Leeds now and have been competing for PRM title for the last 5 seasons and managed to win it twice. My problem is that I'd like to have a solid english core in my squad, but that seems to be impossible. Every summer it's a pain to even have decent english back up players to fulfill the regulations of 8 home grown players. It always goes down to me buying very bad players for very little money cause there's just not enough of them to actually have any use in the team. Then I just sell these players at the end of the season because they're unhappy about lack of first team football(or even reserve cause they're not really good enough for that either) and buy new ones for the next season. There are a few very good english players, but they all play in real madrid, inter or genoa(genoa is like the new barca at 2024).

It's very frustrating... has anyone else had similiar experiences? I hope it'll be better in 2012.
It differs, in 2022 on my game and England have just as many top players as Brazil, Germany and Spain but on previous games they've had less. Also you can get foreign players to become homegrown as long as you sign them before they turn 19 (takes 3 years to become homegrown).
I have a game where 5 of the top 8 players of the world are all English, so I don't believe they are underrated. I do think though that the Dutch regens are underrated, as well as the German. There are occasional good players but compared to how many good Dutch and German players there are IRL, it just doesn't seem realistic..
I agree in FM 2010 Dutch school was producing, at least for me, many talented players, but now there are very few good ones, however Brazil, probably just like in real life, but a bit more, it's dominating by far!

First of all, dude the regulations about hg is clear all players under 18 yo if they stay at club before turn on 21 can become hg players! They don't have to be english! Second, it depends on the save game database selected cause the game replenishes the database every six months randomly!

I know I have quite a few HG players i've brought in from other countries, but I just dont like the fact that they weren't born in England. They still play for their original countrie's national teams etc. Germany is also very very poor in my game, but Holland is very good. I have quite a few dutch youngters with high potential in my team at the moment.

My best players are from Ivory Coast, Holland, Brazil and Argentina and only one English substitute striker. I just dont think thats right :P
My england newgens are almost always rather decent and similar to current players, turkey on the other hand seem to be rather the hot property, unfortunately most of them are also german nationals and at big clubs like bayern already
well TBH, i think it sounds about right that england don't produce many top.top players..Sounds like real-life,i mean we do produce ALOT average joe's,but when it comes down to your messi's etc, we are lucky if we get 1 every 10years or so,if not longer..
I agree with oilbaron. Because in my games most of English are avrage but from time to time you can find some really good players.
