How to Install Downloader on Firestick
Step 1: Search for the Downloader App
- From your Firestick Home Screen, go to the Find tab or click the magnifying glass icon.
- Type Downloader using the on-screen keyboard.
- Select the Downloader app from the search results (it’s orange with a white arrow).
Step 2: Download and Install
- Click on the Downloader icon.
- Press Download or Get to install it.
- Wait for the installation to complete, then click Open.
Step 3: Enable Permissions
- When you open Downloader for the first time, it will ask for permission to access files.
- Click Allow when prompted.
Step 4: Enable “Apps from Unknown Sources”
To sideload apps using Downloader, you need to allow installations from unknown sources:
1. Go to Settings on your Firestick.
2. Select My Fire TV.
3. Choose Developer Options.
4. Click on Install Unknown Apps.
5. Find Downloader in the list and turn it ON.
IF you don’t see “Developer Options,” go to Settings > My Fire TV > About, then click on your Fire TV device name 7 times to unlock Developer Options.
Step 5: Use Downloader to Install Other Apps
- Open the Downloader app.
- In the URL field, type the direct link to the app you want to download (e.g., an APK file).
- Press Go.
- Once the file downloads, you’ll be prompted to install it—click Install.
