I must have missed that info previously but this is exactly I was trying to explain when created and episode about tactics. That I use variation (changes while playing the game to change the flow of the game).

The Mentality Masterplan covers how to react to AI Changes, it is probably outdated by the IPOOP tactics.

Playing the game is not a good way to test tactics, unless you use Observer mode, when you don't make changes unless forced by injuries. If playing the game then why and when you make changes should be made very clear to the user.

I'm not arguing about the testing method. I agreed with the statement that the match engine recalculates outcomes repeatedly when you introduce changes.

I only referred to it as a variable. Small adjustments can significantly change the outcome of a game. Because of that, I don't understand why someone would simply watch the match play out using a static (the same tactic for the whole game) when the in-game statistics clearly show that it isn't working in that specific scenario.

Just like in real football, the game allows you to improve your team's performance by addressing problems during the match, so you should take advantage of that.
