Again, I don't understand why so many of you want screenshots as a form of quality control. They are worthless.

You can just drag and drop anything to make the screenshots look like you want.
If we expect some users to follow a rule, then that rule should apply to everyone.

We cannot justify whether the tactic is realistic or replicable if we do not have supporting data.

Therefore, we either take steps to control the process, or the comment section will be filled with unnecessary remarks claiming that this is not realistic or possible.

It doesn’t take much time to take screenshots and upload them to FM Shoots, especially since you can upload multiple images at once.

We will never will be fully sure if there is no manipulation.
I will say, the game status showing In game being used is bugged.

Any new game I start it says Yes.

So as soon as I choose a team, before I press anything if I go to game status it shows as in game editor used.

So how do we get around that issue?
We will not eliminate use of editor by showing game status window as some editors are not shown there even when used.

It was introduced in order to check the form of tactic testing (holiday or manual).

When you do holiday testing managerial stats will show 0 matches played.
Some user were using method 70/30 which refers to playing most important matches live (I guess until win) so they could show their tactics win quadruples and so on.

So if there is a form of game play this should be shown here.

Game Status windows show how many times game was saved which could indicate load and save policy.

As I stated before all of this can be manipulated by AI but I believe that most people goal is not to cheat but show real achievements.
I forgot to add it also show what ME was used in testing as this is quiet important due to the new update realised couple days ago.

Mine also says the editor is used, even when it's not even enabled. Maybe it has something to do with mods?

I don't use mods.

Can you try taking them off to see if that works.
I have check all my recent save including the Dover and Man City tactics testing and non of them show editor used.

Has anyone else this problem?
it worked when removing mods, with mods it says editor has been used even if it hasn't.

Do we know which mod(s) in particular cause that?
Hello,
What would you think about this process:

Tactics Submission – GENERAL (screenshots)

1. Tactical Overview — BOTH (IP and OPP)
2. League table (at least one season for all teams mentioned in the test) – this is because some users in the past showed a results table with an average team and then a cup competition view where they won quadruples with big teams – this was misleading
3. Squad View (I would say that if it was a holiday test, transfers should not have been allowed)
4. Game Status

OPTIONAL:
• Data Hub
• Tactical Instructions IP and OPP

Tactics Submission – EMULATION (screenshots)
1. Tactical Overview
2. Data Hub
3. Explanation and analysis (I don’t want people to bypass the normal submission process by simply saying “Pep tactical emulation” when in reality it is not an emulation)
OPTIONAL:
• Tactical Instructions IP and OPP
I would also draw attention to the fact that if there are questions, the content creator should stay in touch to answer them.

NEW USERS
(Content creators, due to their familiarity with creating tactics, will need to follow the General submission process)
1. Make sure you upload the tactical FILE
2. Tactical Overview — BOTH (IP and OPP)
3. Tactical Instructions IP and OPP
4. League table (at least one season for all teams mentioned in the test)

Once a new user submits 5 tactics, they will need to go through the General submission or Emulation process.
• If that person submits tactics occasionally (for example, every month), the new user policy will apply.

Additional tests will be carried out if the results are questionable. Only holiday testing or manual play is allowed.
As long as required submissions are set out clearly, then I do not see the need for special new user submissions.

There should be at least 1 holiday season in the submission, otherwise there is a massive debate as to what qualfies as an emulation. Also they are usually promoting their tactic based on results rather than totally on how it plays

The holiday season should also be made in a top league. Obviously with a holiday season it can be run at any time, such as overnight.

Game status screen needs to be provided in all submissions and for each test.
I don't think the emulation needs strict rules in terms of results. The point is to replicate a certain playing style from real life and have fun doing that. If the tactic actually emulates the manager is difficult to judge unless you are familiar with it.

The problem with tactics on our download area wasn't (the lack of) screenshots. No one really felt the need to speak poorly of a tactic shared by a casual member.

The constant battle between video content creators using heavy keywords that became saturated over time. That has been the issue, and now someone will see words like broken or meta and think it's probably useless.

I believe new users shouldn't have to follow strict rules to see their tactic published. Besides, the thumbs up/down feature is ready to be implemented and hopefully that will help as an additional quality metric besides views and download counters.
I’ve been a silent observer of this but I’m going to chime in.

I appreciate the idea of a little bit of moderation and standard-setting when it comes to tactics here, so well done to all who’ve provided ideas on how we could improve the experience here for people. There have been some very great ideas and points raised and it is very refreshing to see such passion in the community.

I might just suggest that we don’t make the processes or procedures overly complicated or strict. At the end of the day, the majority of people uploading tactics do so because they enjoy the game and want to share how they’ve experienced a side of it. Anything overly prescriptive will end up just turning people away.

For casual / occasional tactic uploaders, I would probably suggest finding a balance between providing guidance on what they could include in a submission with only the absolutely necessary requirements. Odds are they don’t have enough time to run countless simulations or provide detailed information, and would most of them be motivated to upload a tactic if it required spending time additional steps? Probably not.

While it is easy/efficient for more regular creators to run simulations, take screenshots, write descriptions on their work, we should remember that it all came from practice and anybody not familiar with the processes will probably have some sort of struggle with some of these concepts.

As a general rule of thumb:
Guidance = good
Prescription = bad

For those who regularly upload tactics, I would expect them to be held to some sort of standard, however. These are the content creators who clearly have more time for uploading and it should be encouraged that they provide a little more detail. 5 detailed tactic submissions are better than 20 tactic submissions which don’t really explain their purpose.

As I only ever use the tactics I create myself, I’m not best placed to suggest what exactly should be included in a submission, but I would just urge that we try to be welcoming and encouraging for everybody to upload tactics, and then help motivate/encourage the more frequent creators to develop the quality of their submission. FM has a relatively small community compared to other franchises, so let’s try to make the most of what we have with each other.
