Is there anyway you can edit which teams are in the champions league before you start the game? I'd like to put my created side straight into the champions league 1st season.

You could by going in editor to champions league then registered teams and there you can replace teams.
In order to do that you must remove one team that is currently registered from your country to play in UCL and then selecting your team to be in Champions League, not sure if you must put a past position in the league as well, but something like this should be done. And i guess that you can't put it straight into group stage if the country does not have a place for it.
