Been playing this save game since about February

I won’t bore you with my whole journey but started with Ipswich, got sacked after losing in the play-off final. I then moved to Notts County in League 1 got them promoted to the Prem within about 3/4 years I think. Stayed up in my first season and then Liverpool came calling. Took that job won everything including Champions League twice...

Then it got interesting... I fancied more of a challenge so I went all the way down to the BSS with Havant & Waterlooville (my local-local team). My aim was to win the champions league with them (Optimistic I know!).

Well Anyway got into the premier league and been there for a few years now just finished my season of 2034/35 in 11th.

Just as I bought a few top class players and really pushing for Europe (Semi-final of League Cup and FA Cup) my game has died! :(

I'm not too bothered as FM2012 is soon approaching but I am gutted I will never reach that goal!

Anyone know how I can get it too work?

It gets to 30th May 2035 and crashes. Any help or ideas is appreciated, I need to at least get into Europe before the end of this month!!
Probably not possible..
But of course you had a backup of your save, right? Right??

Rule number 1 for football manager (and basically ALL computer related things):
Make sure you have a backup available.

A rule I use for myself is that every time I quit playing FM, I make a backup of my save. (And preferably more often)
This ensures you that, at worst, you will be bumped back a few hours.

tl;dr
I hope you had a backup. If not, teach yourself to make backups regularly.
I'm with Zonnegod - I have 4 backups at any one time. One on each of my local PC HDD, a flash drive with important things on, an external HDD which I ghost once a month, and my clean laptop I use if my PC crashes.

With that level of achievement I would definately feel a sense of loss - I used to have trouble with FM06 when the file size got too big, and I used to play for a couple of years, and it would crash, I'd go play Cricket and come back to FM eventually, but with a new team and new passion.

Quite where that leaves you, have you tried a file restore utility, or re-intalling the game and attempting to re-load the game?
Try to go on holiday that day.
Hey guys, yeah of course i have a back up! but no need to worry, it decided to work the next day (thank the lord!!!!!) and i am delighted to say i won the league cup and got into Europe...

Currently 2nd in the Premier League, 2 points behind Man Utd and am dominating in Europe, beat zurich 9-0 away and benfica 3-1 at home and 4-1 away. Just qualified for the first knockout stage after winning all of my group games so far!

Can't believe this is happening!

Hope I can have a game like this on FM 2012, which comes out on pay day (someone up there likes me...)

Thanks for the responses guys :)
