In what is being called a "suprise" appointment, the HJK board has named Jeremiah Walsh as their new manager. Walsh who played professionaly in Ireland but retired early because of a knee injury will be the man in charge at the Sonera Stadium in Helsinki, Finland, he is 28 years old and the youngest manager in the history of the Veikkausliiga.
Walsh has received the board's support for terminating the remaining staff and bringing in his own staff although he has said he would "likely keep some of the current coaches and bring in a few new faces". The board has put out the expectation of winning the Veikkausliiga in his first year and anything else would be an epic failure.
Stay tuned to see if this young man has what it takes to lead HJK to the Veikkausliiga title in his first year.
