I completed my first season with Sunderland and during May I was notified that the job of Great Britain manager was available for the Olympic games during the summer. I put in for the job and got it. My team is by far the strongest in the competition and I'm currently in the semi-finals after winning all my games comfortably (4-0 and 3-0 results).

I just wondered if anyone else took on the job and if so what their starting line up is?

I went with: Joe Hart, Kyle Walker, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Leighton Baines, Jordan Henderson, Jack Rodwell, Jack Wilshire, Gareth Bale, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck. Sorry I cant remember my subs.

Also the reason I have Hart, Baines and Rooney is because you're allowed three players over the age of 23.
Looks good. Might have to apply for it if it comes up.
I'm going to keep an eye out for that.
You've got an England team but with Bale.
I have experianced this as i have just got to the end of my first season with Arsenal, finnished 4th in the prem and ECL semi finals. got offered the job but not played any olympic games yet

I have Ramsay on the bench! haha.

My subs are: Steele (GK), Kelly, Albrighton, Cleverly, Walcott, Ramsay and Sturridge.
Just to let you know I managed to win Gold in the Olympics as my team were by far the best in the competition.

We managed an 8-2 win over Uruguay in the semi-final and a 4-1 hammering of Spain in the Final.

Just a quick note: You automatically step down as manager after the competition yet the job is left open, must be for future Olympics.
Could you still keep your club job while managing the GB team?
i did this in my first season and won easily. i had milner, rooney and glen johnson as my 3 over 23s. i played bale at left back but it was my midfield that was unstopable. rooney upfront on his own, with jordan henderson, wilshire, milner, walcott and rodwell in midfield. we won by miles and then fabio capello keep after losing in euro12 so i applied for the job and got it even though i had only just finished my first season. i was newcastle and finished 6th.
I must be the only person who didn't use Rooney.

i used:
gk Joe Hart
rb Kyle Walker, cb Chis Smalling, cb Phil Jones, lb Gareth Bale
cm Aaron Ramsey, cm Jack Rodwell, cm Jack Collison
st Daniel Sturridge, St Andy Carrol, st Danny Welbeck
subs:
Scott Carson, Danny Wilson, Chris Gunter, Fabian Delph, Jack Cork
John Fleck, Theo Walcott

Won with ease.

Yes, it's just like any other international job.
I have won the league cup and won the championship with West Ham but Roy Hodgson gets the job no mater how many times i restart the game. Is there a way to get it? Like add manager then resign or something? Can I interact somehow about the job?
I think your problem is you are managing West Ham.

I managed Bayern Munich and applied for the job and got it no problem.

I think the criteria is as long as you are registered as a British manager and have had success with a higher reputation team you'll get the job.

No offence to the Hammers.
first time i took the job, i won it, brazil in the final. 0-0 FT then scored two in extra time. luckily i didnt come up against spain on the way through
My only effort at the Olympics was after a season with Spurs where I won the domestic treble. I thrashed New Zealand and an Asian country in the group stages before playing Brazil in the group decider and getting my tactics all wrong eventually going down 5-1. Drew Spain in the semis who scored a late equaliser to take the game into extra time eventually triumphing on pens. I got to exact revenge on Brazil again on pens in the final. From what I remember my starting XI was Hart, Robinson, Jones, cant remember the other DC, Walker, Johnson (not the best one for the position but really wanted to take him - Bale was injured) Rodwell, Wilshere, Walcott, Rooney, Carroll.

I had my past experience as "International footballer" and i had a pretty good season with Sunderland in the Premier League and won the league cup so my reputation was probably higher than yours.

Thats the only thing i ca think of.
