An introduction to me - Mike Harris
DOB – 27th May 1986
Place of birth – Manchester
Football experience – Coach & Horses FC – 7 years as Centre Back and Captain

After the recent shock sacking of Nigel Adkins, I sent a letter to the Southampton board asking them to consider me as their new manager. I must admit, I did a lot of “up-selling” on my CV, and didn’t expect to even receive a callback but it worked a treat!
I received a phone call the following day from the Chairman Nicola Cortese. He asked me to go down to their training ground in Marchwood to discuss my vision and ideas for the club going forward. I received a further phone call 2 days later telling me I had the job!
In the hope that I’m a success as a manager, I have decided to keep a month-by-month diary of my progress for all to see
They were just promoted to the Championship, which is a tough league.
Good luck!
July

I arrived at the club to start my new job on the 5th July. Had a meeting with Nicola and signed my contract officially. £6,500 p/w.... Not bad eh?
He's set me the challenge of a top half finish and has promised me a £5million transfer kitty. I managed to negotiate £6.75m out of him on the promise that i will get the club promoted. It's a big ask but I feel pretty confident!
Nicola also gave me the fixture list, first up are the pre-season friendlies which are:
9/7 - Preston (A)
13/7 - Rochdale (A)
18/7 - Eastleigh (A)
21/7 - Leyton Orient (A)
25/7 - Aston Villa (H)
29/7 - Ajax (A)
I might have a dip into the transfer market soon!
