Im starting to get really frustrated with my new career i have just started with Athletic Bilbao, the reason for this is that whenever i try to make an offer for anyone it keeps saying bid cancelled Athletic are not allowed to sign non basque players. Can somebody explain to me what this term means?
To cut a really long story short, Basque is a region in Spain. Bilbao are based there and only want players at their club from there. It's a bit like if you took control of Norwich and were only able to sign players from Norfolk. I think it says if they are Basque on their info page and if not then i'm pretty sure on old versions you could filter it in Player Search. Hope this helps. Lee

It's a challenge I tried some years ago and in some ways regret not continuing. Potentially, I could have this thread to thank for me spending some time in Spain!
Despite the limitations, I still find/found them to be a very managable team. But as Jonathan says with assistance from Genie Scout, it's certainly something I would do a club with such limitations. Getting top quality players can be like finding a needle in a hay stack particularly in this situation and it will take time for huge success.
