Result

Lost 1-0

We went into this game confident of getting a good result. It looked like that would all change when we went a man down after 5 minutes. The team however, did let that dampen our spirits and we started to contol the game through the first half. The second half then continued the same as the first as we continued to control but St. Johnstone held firm and managed to break on the counter. At the end of which they scored and put us in a tough position as we tried to come back from behind. A task that we never managed and the game ended 1-0.

Matchday 30

Home/Away to Inverness

Formation: 4-2-2-2

Line-Up:

GK: Bell

LB: McKeown
RW: Silva

(Own goal from Josh Meekings)

FB: Hay
CM: Kelly
RW: Dayton
LW: Kennedy
ST: Heffernan

Result

Won 4-0

McKay gained an unexpected debut that I honestly didn't think he'd get for the club because Galan was suspended and Heffernan was not fit enough to take a starting place. I'm sure he did it just to wind me up but McKay got us off to a flier which was then followed up by Gros to double our lead. Aluko added a 4rd and a good piece of play again by McKay took a deflection and into the net for the own goal. We did well to keep a clean sheet in the game as towards the end Inverness really started to pile the pressure on especially when we went down to 9 men, after Silva and McKay both got injured after we had used all our subs.

ST: Heffernan

Result

Won 3-0

After last weeks game against Inverness I didnt want to change the team too much so only one or two changes were made, and I begrundginly gave McKay another start after scoring last week. And once again he makes me regret not renewing his contract. McKay once again opens the scoring with Gros following in with a second and Harkins added the third just after half-time to secure the game.

Club Update

Hopefully this will go through and will help with the club financies which have taken a beating all season so far. And hopefully the new chairman could provide some money to bring players in.

Matchday 32

Home/Away to St. Mirren

Formation: 4-2-2-2

Line-Up:

GK: Bell
RB: Buijs
CB: Pascali
CB: Sissoko

Subs:
GK: Jaakola
CB: Kroca
RB: Pursehouse
LB: McKeown
CM: Harkins
RW: Kennedy
LW: Telfer

Result

Lost 1-0

Like the previous week I didn't wish to change the squad too much after such a good result. So again only one or two changes took place. The good run of results ended with an unlucky own goal against Cammy Bell which he probably should have dealt with but unfortunaly couldn't. We also suffered two injuries to our defenders, luckily Kroca will recover in a day or two while Sissoko will be out for up to 2 months.

Monthly Report - March

The month of March was a relatively good one with 3 wins, 2 in the league against Motherwell and St. Johnstone, 1 in the cup against Falkirk after our only draw of the month against them. Our only loss of the month came against St. Mirren, which if you read the report was an unlucky loss. There were also the friendly matches which were taken control of by my assistant manager. The results were as follows:

The results keep us in the top-6 of the group with a strong chance of qualifying for the euro cup or even the champions league. The 2nd to 5th places are still so very close with only 6 points between them and 3 points between 5th and 6th.

The club is currently going through a takeover bid and currently has a transfer embargo in place which means I am unable to attempt to sign the youth players that I found in some of the lower leagues in Scotland but hopefully it shall not take long for the takeover to be complete.

A good thing about the takeover is that it could possibly help out ALOT with the finances as the possible future chairman has said he'd wipe all the debt from the club which would help massively. The club did go further into debt this month though, as we lost a further £84,500. Once again it was the match day expenses that cost us the most at £151,000 while our gate reciepts brought in £358,000 which is a healthy return....if only we could get that every month.

James Fowler(Attacking), Jude Winchester(Tactics) and Anssi Jaakola(Handling) all improved this month in training for their respective areas, while Manuel Pascali(Tactics), Garry Hay(Strength) and Micheal Stewart(Aerobic) all failed to improve and impress.

League Update

Already knew it'd happen but here's conformation.

Result

Lost 3-1

A Garry Harkins 30-yard wonder strike gave us the lead in a game that we really shouldn't have had a chance in. That was the case as the first half continued when Celtic equalised. They were then given a dubious penalty which they scored to go in 2-1 at the break. It didn't matter as Celtic went on to score a third and basically end the game.

Scottish Cup Semi-Final

Home/Away to St. Johnstone

Formation: 4-2-2-2

Line-Up:

GK: Bell
RB: Pursehouse
CB: Pascali
CB: Kroca
LB: McKeown
RW: Dayton
CM: Kelly
CM: Fowler
LW: Silva
ST: Heffernan
ST: Gros

Subs:
GK: Jaakola
FB: Hay
CM: Harkins
WM: Aluko
ST: Galan

Result

Won 3-1

We took the lead, which was doubled, early on thanks to a brace from Heffernan and we really started taking control, especially after St. Johnstone went down to 10 men mid way through the first half. In the second our discipline went out the window as we picked up 4 yellow cards. Our lead was then reduced thanks to an own goal from Kroca. He then turned "Hero" as he went up the other end and scored to give us our 2 goal lead back. The game ended with the score 3-1 and with us progressing into the final for what will be our 5th match against Celtic this season.
