Won 2-1

As some of the first team were still recovering from the League Cup game mid-week, some changes had to be made to keep the side "fresh". This meant Ada would gain his first league start of the season. Early on both teams had good chances with Teale shooting straight at Bell whilst Dayton watched his header go just wide of the target. Minutes after the half hour mark we took the lead thanks to our in-form striker Paul Heffernan, who slotted the ball past the keeper and into the bottom corner. The game was even again a minute or two before half-time. Some sloppy defending allowed Hasslebaink and Thompson to link-up and score the equaliser.

In the second half we tried to racapture some of our dominance from previous games and Shiels blew the best 2 chances we created before the hour mark. First heading the ball high over the bar, and secondly firing a shot just wide of the target instead of passing to an open Gros. Then he wasted a third attempt as he once again fired wide this time from outside the box. Shiels just wasn't hitting the target even from right in-front of the net today as he squandered another oppertunity to take the lead, firing yet another shot wide. The last 15 minutes of the match were tense as we went in search for the winner, creating chance after chance. Then finally all that pressure paid off as Shiels turned from waster to provider as he slid the ball into Gros at the 6-yard box who simply turned and fired home to give us the 2-1 lead. In the last minute, Fowler injured himself going in for a tackle. St Mirren didn't bother putting the ball out of play and continued with the attack, resulting in a last kick of the game corner, which we would be defending with ten men as Fowler had to be taken off due to his injury and there were no subs left to take his place. Thankfully the corner never came to anything and the game ended 2-1. A good reply to the midweek loss, in my mind.
Champions League Update

Barcelona v.s Dortmund = Final Result = 6-1 Barcelona

Messi got 5 of them...5!!!!
Monthly Update - September

In September we played 4 games again, 3 in the League and 1 in the League Cup. We ended up winning 2 of these games, against Dunfermline and St. Mirren in the League with the other game being the goalless draw against Aberdeen. The loss came in the Cup against Dunfermline which hurt personally as it wasn't until extra time that they took the lead. With us out of the cup our main focus will be on the League until the Scottish Cup draw gives us our first game of the competition in the next month or two.

As for the League we still occupy 3rd place, on 17 points, 3 behind Hibernian who are in 2nd and 5 points off Rangers in 1st. We have only increased our goal difference by 2 goals to put us on +6, which is the 5th best in the league. However we are 4th in the league for goals scored, 15, and tied 2nd for goals conceded, 9.

Two players impressed this month in training, they are:

Matthew Kennedy - Attacking
Cammy Bell - Tactics

With only one player failing to impress:

Rory McKeown - Tactics

Early signs show that Kennedy's tutoring has definitely helped as he improves and impresses in training after failing to do last month.

Financially it was once again a bad month for the club. With another loss of around £291,000 we finally go into the red. Once again it was loan repayments that cost us the most, £169,000, while our gate reciepts dropped due to only playing 1 home game in the month.
The season seems to be going okay at the moment, when you eventually know how to post pics,

put a pic of your team and table.

Keep up the good work, and liking how you laid the story out!
Yes, add a pic with your team. Keep it up and won the league!

Here you go, I hope that this works. Here is the line-up that I used so far:

Here is a look at the league table, the biggest surprise being Celtic (the second highest ranked team in Scotland) are down near the bottom.

And here is a look at all the games we've played so far.

Just thought I'd share this with you guys :D

It had to end at some point but I didn't think it would be against Hearts.

Monthly Update - October

October was the month that saw our unbeaten run in the League end with a 3-0 loss to Hearts, which I was really disappointed with after we had already defeated them earlier in the season. I think the main thing though was we beat them at Home, while the loss happened away. The rest of the results this month were as follows:

With 3 wins out of 4 I am pleased with how the month but of course would have much prefered to not have lost the last game of the month to end the streak. With these results here is how the league now looks:

We have moved up to 2nd in the league which I am very happy with as it means we are on course to challenge for the title never mind just secure a mid-table finish. Though I do know there is still time for things to go downhill so I will be working to ensure that doesn't happen.

Our star player so far this season has been Paul Heffernan. He is our top scorer by a long shot and has performed the most consistantly of anyone in the squad. Here is how his profile looks so far:

Financially the club did better in October than either of the previous months. We still lost money, £94,000 but that is 3 times less than the previous two months. This was helped by bumber ticket sales from the Celtic match which drew 12,000+ fans. Twice more than any other match at home so far this season.

Our youth players certainly showed the older players how to impress as they showed the biggest improvement and made the biggest impression in training:

Rory McKeown - Strength
Matthew Kennedy - Tactics
Lee Ashcroft - Strength

While they were making a big impressing our older players made little to none at all, the three main culprits were:

James Fowler - Aerobic
James Dayton - Attacking
Cammy Bell - Ball Control
To help you in financial matters:
Do friendlies in the season at home, its one of the most profitable ways of getting money.

And for a very suggested player for the 2nd season:
Burnley's Joe Mckee, i somehow, managed to get him for 28k on my old Kidderminster save on the second season, on the first season he is worth 525k. He has 20 in PK taking and in FK taking. He's well worth signing in the second season, He's English championship level.

Keep up the good work ;)
Thanks for the idea, I will definitely try and get some "high profile" friendlies set up for periods when we are without any games.

And thank you for the suggestion, I will be sure to take a look at him. If I can't sign him I will try to take him on loan if he looks like he'd fit into the team.
Transfer Update

I have had to recall Kyle Letheran from his loan at Hamilton due to the injury of Anssi Jaakola. He never made an appearance for Hamilton so it wasn't a good loan deal.

Elsewhere, Ben Hutchinson rejected a contract extension and has decided to join Burton in the npower League 2. As he has not really performed in the games he has played in I don't view this as much of a loss, though maybe it would have been better if he signed an extension to the end of the season just to give him another chance.

And lastly Lewis Milne has accepted a contract to join for free when his current contract at Cowdenbeath runs out at the end of the season. He will be viewed as a prospect for the future but may also be used as cover for any injuries in the first team.
Hey! Some great work going on. I love seeing Celtic near the bottom <3.

Amazed to see David Silva not making it into your side. That just shows the strength of your side.

Keep it up.
Matchday 13

Home to Inverness.

Formation: 4-2-2-2

Line-Up

.............Bell................
..Buijs..Kroca..Pascali..Panikvar..
.......Harkins...Stewart......
..Silva................Dayton..
......Heffernan....Galan.......

Subs: Letheran, Sissoko, McKeown, Kelly, Racchi, Kennedy, Gros

Result

Won 3-0

This was a solid game for the team. After taking the lead early we held on till half time and double the lead just before the hour mark. Kroca added a third late on in the match to seal the game and give us the win to bounce back from the defeat last week. The luckily the injury to Heffernan was not serious and he will be available for selection against Rangers in the midweek game.
