I've decided to begin my managerial career at West London by managing Chelsea FC. I've decided to start with The Blues for two reasons. Firstly, because I'm a Chelsea FC fan myself (
) and secondly because it will be a challenge for me to bring in and establish fresh young faces in the Chelsea FC squad to replace most of the ageing players; the next set of football's rising phenomenon. By doing so, I will have accomplished my goal of building "A New Stamford Bridge Legacy".
My target for the season is to launch a competitive title challenge where the board has given me a transfer budget of £14 million.
I feel my first-team squad is capable enough to invoke a serious title challenge. But, however there isn’t much cover for the first-team in case of injuries and suspensions. I will be promoting some of the younger players from the reserve squads to the first-team squad, such as J.McEachran, D.Sturridge, R.Lukaku and O.Romeu.
I will be hoping to strengthen my squad in the summer transfer window. One major signing I will am hoping for will take place is X.Shaqiri to Chelsea FC. He is a very talented young right winger and I feel he can make a huge contribution to the success of this club. He will also be a good choice to replace N.Anelka who will most probably be heading out of the club either at the start or the end of this season.
I will also try to sign a central defender in order to strengthen my defence even further. I will be looking hoping to purchase a young central defender whose value isn’t so high so, I can buy him cheaply. Two defenders that meet this criterion are J.Tomkins and R.Toloi and I might be making a move for them in the future. Another central defender that really captures my attention is N.Onouha and I will try my level best to sign him although he might be a bit more expensive.
Also, there is already a transfer confirmed before I joined The Blues, which will take place in the January transfer period, L.Piazon (Forward) will join Chelsea FC for £6.95 million. This really helpful since D.Drogba will soon retire and I will have three capable young strikers to replace him (D.Sturridge, R.Lukaku, L.Piazon).
Hopefully, the next string of matches (pre-seasons) will help me figure out my tactics and best eleven for the start of the competitive season. For now, I will be starting with a balanced formation of 4-5-1 with an anchor-man, box-to-box midfielder and a deep lying playmaker in the centre of the park.
I hope most of you that read this are intrigued to continue reading about my FM story in the future. So until next time, peace out …..
