The first goal was set up by a El-Mohamady cross which was nodded in by Vaughan. Bramble doubled our lead after Gardner took a corner which was headed at goal by Turner and it rebounded of the keeper for Bramble to poke it in. Wickham increased our lead after Bendtner slid it through to him, he skipped passed the keeper and tapped it in. The last goal was from a Richardson corner which was headed in by Turner.
I picked first team players in this Carling Cup match as I wanted to build confidence with a solid win and I still didn't know my team well enough so this gave an opportunity to try out other combinations. We were in total control throughout the whole game, and the scoreline could've been and should have been a lot better if Wickham put away the chances he got.
