wrong names for some newgens

Genie is giving some Spanish newgens totally wrong names. e.g.



As you can see the RED arrow is showing a wrong name that he is not called in the game. The BLUE arrow is his real full name. On the list it shows the wrong name aswell. In game this particular player has the name 'Jose Alberto'.

Anyone know whats wrong with this? Finding it hard to track players.

This problem with nicknames was an issue also in Genie Scout 11, but sadly it looks like another bug not solved.

For newgen players, the "short" names common in Spanish/Portuguese speaking countries seem to be out of sync between the game and Genie Scout.

i.e. above, Genie Scout shows the players short name as Bruno Veiga. However, in the game his short name is shown as Jose Alberto.

Hope this helps you resolve it.

To the OP, the workaround I used was to identify players by their full name in the search and if they joined my squad, to edit their nickname to match Genie Scout's. Not ideal, but at least kept them the same for players I looked at.

Can you upload a savegame at rapidshare with such a player, I'll try to resolve this. Thanks

I'm afraid I don't have one as I just started a new game and have't made it past season 1. I had the same issue in FM 2011 though.

If no-one else posts up on here today so then I'll run a holiday game until I can find one and then upload

EDIT: Actually, I do have an older save. Just checked it and found an example.

I still have this issue with some spanish players. The brazilian players show up correctly now, although it shows the full brazilian name, not the short name that it shows in game.

I am currently using the free version. Does that make a difference? I do intend to donate soon.

Could you please upload a game at rapidshare, and tell me which player I have to check.

Sorry for the delay. The original problem has been rectified, apologies for any confusion. However, the newgens with Spanish/Brazilian names show on Genie with the long version of their name. Would it not be better if their short name showed on Genie? As you can imagine, some of the Spanish/Brazilian names can get quite long!

e.g. The Brazilian 'Luizão' - he is on Genie as 'António Dioclécio da Silva Quinanilha Luiz'. It would be better if Genie showed him as just 'Luizão', his nickname in the game.

Luizão is currently at Vasco on the save game below.

I would like this to be resolved as well. It can be frustrating managing in Brazil and Genie Scout displays all the long names for Brazilian players.
