Phone call from Stam...
"Hey gaffer, just a quickie. Seems the supporters are going to be harder to please then we first thought... We were delighted with the win over Rochdale, they only seem slightly pleased. I've sent you the report via BBM boss.
Catch you at training"

Farnborough v FMScout - 22/7/2011

The starting line-up for todays game was decided on form with the exception of one or two players due to lack of match fitness. I thought it was for the best for the league games if i started playing the team judged on form now.

Starting line-up

Shaughnessy
Pierres-Nazlo
McCabe
Waller
Elric
Agrela
Wizzle
Andrews
Beech
Giovanni-Ji
Marsden

Match report

24' - GOAL TO FMSCOUT!! - Pierres-Nazlo plays a sublime long ball down the line, Giovanni-Ji allows the ball to bounce and fires a low cross to the feet of Marsden who drills the ball home

30' - Chance for Farnborough. A ball over the top finds Connolly in space, but Shaughnessy comes out to deny the striker

Half Time - 1-0 to FMScout

Decided to be a bit assertive on the guys and told them to keep going out there!
Took Beech off for McGuigan, Pierres-Nazlo off for Dabrowski and Agrela off for Halsall

60' - Wizzle stretchered off. I hope it's not serious. I took the opportunity to change the rest of the team too. There are still places to be cemented out there!

71' - GOAL TO FARNBOROUGH!!
Egerton floated an inviting ball into the box, Clarke found space and headed home.
Switched to a 4-2-3-1 with an attacking mentality

89' - Nepal gives the ball away in midfield and Murphy runs clear. McEwan swipes his legs and is already walking before the ref shows him the Red card

Full time - Farnborough 1-1 FMScout [/b[

I think it's clear that after that result, the team need a successful away tactic.
3 massive home wins and 2 shocking away draws sums up pre-season so far. I assertively told the players that i was not happy with what I saw out there and you can clearly see why!

1 goal 1 assist 1 injury. Eventful pres season for me!!
2 assists and 1 Half assist :3. I think i'm turning into a trequaritsa xD.
Sorry there was no further updates last night. I got a bit carried away with the football!
They'll be some more updates tonight.
3 goals for me as a ML/AML.
Happy with that! :))

FMScout v Mansfield - 30/7/2011

Decided to make wholesale changes due to the poor performance in the previous match. Switched to a 4-2-3-1 with Nepal behind Ham up top

Team
Tsak
Dabrowski
Dechman
McEwan
Leathem
Halsall
Harris
Strong
Beech
Nepal
Ham

Halsall, Harris, Wizzle, Giovanni-Ji
Halsall, Giovanni-Ji

Match report

My decision to drop the whole team turned out to not be a smart one. We found ourselves 3-0 down after 33 minutes. A cross from Beech found the head of Halsall to bring it back to 3-1.

I changed the whole team apart from these two at half time, changed back to 4-4-2 and told the team to show me something else in the second half.

It took the time all of 5 minutes to respond. A ball into the box by andrews found Giovanni-Ji, who freed the ball from his feet and fired home. 3-2...
Made the other 2 changes on the hour.
An 85th minute goal from Mansfield sealed the game though. A dissappointing end to an encouraging second half performance.

FULL TIME
FMSCOUT 2-4 MANSFIELD

August

Stam came into the office on Monday morning. He looked like he hadn't had a wink of sleep all night.
"Boss, I'm genuinely gutted.
I knew we'd lose at some point but we didn't deserve to lose that game. Look!"
Stam threw a print-out of the match stats on my desk, and he was right, we had 62% of the possession!
Stam also passed me the fixtures for the month.
6 league games starting with Hyde at home

We had a lot to do. We need to pick the team up again and pick the captain for the season. Evo informed me that Harris was the current captain, yet Leathem and Beech were more suitable to the role so I bit the bullet and made them captain and vice-captain accordingly.
Leathem reported back to me that he felt under-pressure by the decision. I'm hoping his views change later in the season
YOU HAVE MAIL!

To: Harris, Mike
From: Joannes3000

Boss, Montgomery Pierres-Nazlo pulled his groin in training. Looks like he's out for about 4 weeks.

Post-match blues...

I honestly don't know where that came from. We looked ready for most of the pre-season. We had nothing going forward, and Hyde had 2 shots on target and they both went in!
Improvement is needed fast!
