I've decided to change my introduction slightly because when i started with Truro City i didn't have a specific goal in mind.

I now have a clearer view of where i will hopefully be going with Truro. I would like to get them to the premier league. Its a stereotypical goal but i will only be using my tactical knowledge and choice of transfers to achieve this. Not many people can say they have done this achievement with a Semi professional club. I am keeping myself honest as i always do and i will share my story with you all!

If however through my journey with Truro, i lose my job or a i get a irresistable offer, i will carry on my story and keep you updated

If anyone would like to leave comments and advice on my failings or achievements, that would be highly appreciated.

Hope you enjoy!

Sounds like a true challenge. Good luck!
Welcome to the world of lower league management this is the best way to enjoy fm trust me it's more of a challenge and u have to concentrate more lol good luck and keep us updated
Truro are expected to finish 10th this season so i have set the expectations to top half finish. Dont want to shout my mouth off and not deliver in my first season.

The key player currently in the squad is Barry Hales. Some of you will remember him, some of you wont. Anyway hes 39, so his pace, agility, and acceleration is shocking. My assistant recommends i use him as a supporting target man. So i intend to sign a speedy little poacher and a tricky traquesita to compliment the big man.

The squads main weaknesses are in defence and midfield, the age of the squad is pretty good so i won't be having a complete clear out. I do intend to sell or release all the wingers though because i use a narrow 4-3-1-2 or 4-1-2-1-2 and dont use them at any point. This will hopefully give me room for more CM's to add to the squad.

As i am about to dip my toes in the transfer market i will update with my signings soon.

Thankyou for the comments guys! much appreciated!
Don't know if he will come but I think Febian Brandy is free at the start of the game. Give him a go if available. Great little player.
Thanks for the advice mate, ill take a look :)

But heres my first signing. The traquesita i was after. Looks like a very good player to be bringing to The BS

Great buy for BS but had to laugh at the poor guys competitions history. Hopefully you can change that for him.
Haha! i didnt even notice that.

Well ive just got my first friendly out of the way. We was up against our parent club Plymouth. I told the lads its just about fitness and performance. Hoping they wouldnt get too disheartened by the thumping they were going to receive. By half time came i was eating my words. The Hayles and Counago partnership got off to the flying start i had dreamed of. I was Expecting Plymouth to change their team around at half time and come back out and play us off the park. They had a good start to the second half only for Counago to peg them back. 2 goals and 1 assist from the new spaniard and Hayles managed to last 90 minutes. Happy days!

So ive been quite busy in the transfer market bringing 11 players in and disposing of 6. Counago is arguably the pick of the bunch but there are definitely some hopefuls in there. ive also brought 2 new coaches in and released the one that was here.

So my first league game of the season was against Boreham Wood. They were at home and had the favorites tag. I had Hayles and Koroma (Gambian poacher i signed) leading the line with counago behind as the traquesita. I had 10 new signings on the pitch with only 2 days of training together prior the game. I started the first half off with a simple good luck to the boys, and encouraged a counter attacking play. At 14 minutes Barry Hayles nodded a long ball down for Counago to burst in and strike for the opening. We kept possession for most of the first half. The boys came in and i told them were only one goal up so they shouldnt get complacent. I got the marker pens out and issued a even more defensive outlook for the second half. Playing a deeper line with a slower pace to the game. I told them they should waste as much time as possible to frustrate the opponent so we can hit them on the break again. Boreham wood had a few scrappy chances and regained some possession but my team held their nerve and went on to win the game for our first 3 points of the season. A quick congratulations was in order.

So i thought i would share my first 2 league games at Truro. The second game was a home game v Havant & waterlooville. I set up an attacking style of play for the 1st half and it payed off with Omar Koroma getting on the scoresheet. Once again we kept good possession after that and managed to keep another clean sheet. My first blow at Truro manager came straight after the game with Counago getting a 5 to 6 week injury. Ill update after another few matches and share my tactics and results with you.

BAD NEWS!!

http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg526/kaneLFC/PabloCouganoInjury.jpg
So im 6 games into my career at Truro City. I have only positive things to say at this moment in time. We have won 4 games and drew 2 so currently unbeaten and top of the league on 14 points. We have dominated every game and have been unfortunate to not score alot more goals than we have. We have been very good at the back only conceding 2 goals. Not a bad effort from a team predicted to finish 10th. The players have responded very well to my tactics and formation which i will share with you all soon.

I have just been awarded my first accolade with Truro City - August Manager Of The Month. Lets hope thats the first of many!
After such a great start to the season, ive been shot back to reality after our first loss of the season. We suffered a big defeat at Welling although we created more chances and kept an even amount of possession.

Good luck with the challenge!!

I'm like you - didnt manage much outside the top couple of leagues. Promised myself when i got FM 12 I would start at the very bottom and very glad I did - learnt so much more about the game.
