I'm on the latest version & have used it fine (I think the last time was probably around 3 or 4 days ago??).
However, today when opening Genie Scout the usual splash screen comes up whilst loading. The program window then opens with a bright red border around it. I am able to sometimes click on the load game button before it crashes, other times it just crashes out of the program before I can even click the load game button.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I've checked my application logs but no error logs were generated by the program.
Anyone got any ideas what might cause this?
Scratch that I've just solved my own issue (Google does in fact know all), I'll still post this though in case anybody else is getting the same issue so they can resolve it too
Solution:
Avast AV runs an "auto-sandbox" mode which puts high risk programs & websites into a sandbox environment so you can run them safely in the knowledge they can pose no threat to your computer. This was resolved by going into Avast settings & adding the FM Genie executable into the exceptions list for the auto sandbox (found under the additional protection tab in Avast).
