Hey story seems to be going well. Why dont you try a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-5-1. I found they work pretty well for liverpool. You also need some wingers dude!!

Otherwise this is a great story. How come you cant upload photos?

I could probably try 4-2-3-1 tacc. I used it abit in my first season. But with 4-2-2-2 tactic I have been dominating matches that I really should control. So Im just a tad "afraid" to start changing it when it works so good. And I love the fact of using two strikers.

And about the wingers fact, well. I dont have to much transfer money with Liverpool. And I felt that getting Di Maria as an extra winger together with Rodriguez and Downing was enough. Since Gerrard and Henderson can play right winger to.

About the photos: I have played abit into the season before I started the story. I was not sure if I should start a story at all but I figured I could try. Therefor there aint that much of screenshots until I can update it to where I am. Normal pictures I just havent gotten to be a real pro at this. Since its my first story.

Fair enough, i know what you mean. Maybe try a 4-1-2-1-2 which works well for me and also clogs up the middle of the field and makes it hard for teams to get a grip on the game. Because i have found, as have some other FMers, that the game adapts to your tactics and next season you wont be able to play the same formation. Youll find you will draw easy games and lose games too. This is just an observational theory though!

That i know, I have played 15 seasons on my barca save so I have a few taccs I know can work when the game adapts. Im not usually the 4-2-2-2 man since I feel it is a static tactic. So I will probably use a different tactic next season. Most likely a 5-4-1 formation (2-3-1-3-1). If you can think that way :P

I will soon post a tactics post of my tactics the first season. The two I use the most. And I'll set up the 5-4-1 tacc for you to see to. I will take your taccs in to consideration. But as long as my tactics work now, I will certainly stick to it. :P
#44036 Shameless : 4-2-2-2 sound interesting but leaves a gap between defence and centre yes?

Fast players like Rooney and Messi to name couple, are deadly with their counter attacks. How has it worked for you? I had no defensive midfielder in my first season and it was my downfall many times.

You have it right. Against fast attackers like Messi I used the 4-1-2-2-1 tactic to try to make a brick wall in defense. The problem was that I should have gone with 4-1-4-1, cause theyre wingers destroyed me when standing so high. 4-2-2-2 works like a charm against most team, cause Agger/Coates/Skrtel dominates in the air and breaks many attacks.

But Ive had problems against offensive teams that uses the gap between the defense and midfield. But luckily my attackers have been amazing and we scored more goals than them
Tactics

Here's my 4-2-2 tactic, its a well balanced team based on controlling every aspect of the game. Since I don't have a real right winger he's put as IS. While Downing dominates down the left wing. My left central midfielder is the playmaker and the RCM is defensive ball winning player. The defence is basic normal defence.

This 4-1-2-2-1 tactic is the one I use against team that I feel is better at attacking than we are. Sice we get the DM to close the gap between the two parts on the field. I do this as a counterattacking formation so we can get some pace when we counter.

And as the last. This is a amazing tactic that works like a charm with my Barca and Brasil team in 2022 atleast. Its a full on offensive tactic made for taking every opponent on they're back feet. The defence is composed of the 3 sentral ones. The two CB and the DM. The WB is running up and down the wings and need stamina atleast. One CM to be the playmaker and 3 OM doing what the do best harassing the opponents defence. The one on top is a poacher just waiting for the right balls to enter the box.

A game I left to S Clarke again. I had to make dinner and do a errand. Therefor I was so sure that Clarke and the team could do the job and so they did. It didnt help the hosts that Cattermold got red carded for two yellows. But still we did overpower them on counter-attacks and effectivity. Clarke told me we were the best team overall and deserved the win

Yet another total domination. West Ham had four shots the entire game. None on goal. Cavani was a master today. Scoring four goals, two on penalties. West Ham was shown how hard it can be to be promoted and meet a offensive goal hungry team like Liverpool. It was a great team effort and the guest “Team Scandinavia” (so many scandinavians on West Ham) had no chance to get anything from the match.

This almost made me cry. Agbonlahor scored on a counter attack late in the first half against all odds. The hosts were down to ten men. We were offensive and just hammering on they're door the entire match. But a amazing performance by Given shut us out. He was like a wall. Can't say if we were lucky or unlucky not to score but the late Aquilani made sure we didnt lose three points today. A game we shoudve won. 75 mins with ten vs eleven. I made sure the team heard it after the game. Cause this was embarrasing.

A descent win away from home. Due to tired players I chose 4-1-2-2-1 and chose a relaxing entry to the game. Cavani did his job and scored yet two more goals and got the motm. This was a good win and a sure victory. Now we have 7 points in the CL group and have a three point advantage on PSG. With a win against PSG home we will get the second place in the group behind Barcelona.

And there, our first loss in Premier League in the season. I blame myself, cowardly using 4-1-2-2-1 beeing afraid of the Chelseas offence. But seeing that we dominted the stats yet again and Chelsea scored on theyre one chance I cant be to mad on the players. It was my bad. Chelsea worked like hell in defence blocking shots and closing us down. But Im sure if I had gone with 4-2-2-2 I couldve done it. But a streak cant last forever. We just have to come back next match.

A match I thought Clarke could handle as I had to something else. Luckily I can say it was close to a exit but we survived. Barton got sent off due to a two footed tackle after eight minutes. Then it seemed like a one way trip. 2-0 up at half time and Clarke said it looked like we had won already. But yet again we fail against ten men, just like against Villa. This time the equalized three minutes in the added time. A tired team managed to get the winner when Coates scored on a corner and we didnt have to go to penalty. This was not the time to go to extra time, cause next game is Tottenham away.

Transfers

Andy Carroll played his last match for The Reds as he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers for low amount of £ 6.25 million. He played 39 matches for Liverpool scoring 9 goals and had 1 assist.

The manager didnt have a spot for him in the team and Carroll wanted to be sold asking to be transferlisted. The new striker brought in before the season Leandro Damiao have put Carroll in the shadow and Liverpool FC wishes Carroll luck in his new club.

Other new in the transfer window, Spearing loaned to Newcastle for the remainder of the season

Sigh. Another punch in the face. A Tottenham offensive just tore us down and we were lucky we just conceived one goal. Six points lost in the last two league games. I feel let down by the team and we really have to put up a good show next match. Agger injured was even worse, he's been rock steady in defence. But Coates can come in and do a good job. Krasic put a stunner from 20 yards and we did get the loss.

Both teams were through to the knockout leg, but the team wanted to revenge the embarrasment at Camp Nou. So we put up a good team with a few players that have started on the bench lately. Barcelona was the most dangerous team, but we were the effective ones. After they went up one – nill the team responded fast with a dashing shot from Gerrard. Suarez finished the show with a great solo run. Rodriguez went up and down the wing like a champ and deserved the motm. Revenge is ours.

Nice win over Barca there! Id just love to have Mascherano back to Liverpool ... and put Alonso on that list too. Two genuine Liverpool players if you ask me

Q.P.R is a hard team to crack. That´s what I love about them.

I love your summaries! Id wish my were good as yours. Instead of making a real summary I get too personal and my texts never end up as I want to :) But to next season I'm going make some changes on reports

Oh the luck. United had us by the balls two early injuries made me lose any chance of doing smart changes after the break. But I knew we had to close them down at Old Trafford so I went in defensive. We got a point on a bad day. Indeed very lucky. We couldve lost a lot if it werent for Pepe Reina and a solid defence. Yet again I became saved by a long shot. It seems when we're pushed back some one fires a rocket and saves the day. This time Adam! You gotta love luck boys!
