I think I have got myself into a bit of a mess here. A few seasons in, Lionel Messi fell out with his manager and I got a transfer bid accepted for him. This was great but I think that I let it go to my head a bit! For reasons unknown even to me, I offered him the maximum wage I could, but also a 25% yearly increase. As well as this there are a few players who have match highest earner clauses in their contracts which i had forgotten about so they will automatically get the same wage as him!!!!

I am worried that i might have ruined my wage structure and have considered trying to sell him but as he has only just come I might struggle with that. Any advice?
I have to admit I am giggling at this. Although, I have done it before. However, I carefully decided if a high earner warranted a place at my club even on those dreaded huge wages, and in Messi's case would say yes, every single time. But then I have fouind out that the ex-manager had offered a load of match highest earner clauses into contracts, usually for average players.

My way of solving it was to sell the other players initially, as these are easily sellable due to not "staying put having just joined," and then look at selling the high earner for a quick profit 6/12 months down the line.

Also, you will have to keep an eye on contracts you offer during that time. Wages will usually look to rise as the structure seems to be allowing higher and higher wages and the players/agents notice that.
OK, thanks for the advice. I cant believe I did it though, I will be more careful with my wages in future!
