Global Suspension

I'm playing Chicago in the MLS with the newest database. Chicago signed Arne Friedich after the release, so I picked him up on my own. I played halfway through the season (granted this is 2011 in the game, so that may have something to do with it, I don't know) and he has played well and hasn't even received any cards, but as soon as July 1st hit he is now under global suspension for the rest of the season (Dec 31, 2011).

Does anyone know why?

I don't know why for Friedrich, but I do know why it was for Livaja in 2011. Hajduk and Livaja had a major disagreement on his contract status, so, while he was not paid by Hajduk, and was allowed to transfer clubs, he was still officially a member of the Hajduk team, until the date that he was suspended to. It was very bitter, and actually quite well covered in Croatia...
