Hello all,I have decided to start my very own Man United FM story. I have taken inspiration from all the great manager stories on the site, and I hope to match some of them!
My short term aim (2-3ish years) is to get my squad full of quality young players who can serve me for many years whereas my longer term aim is to turn these players into world beaters and take over Europe with them.
Wish me luck.

I'm on my 3rd season with Man Utd and won every single trophy but these players are a must buy: Samba an absolute rock alongside Vidic; Fellaini goes about his job quietly. Pedro from Barca absolutely sensational and Cavani who scores goals for fun.
Im thinking of starting with man u Good luck aswell
Wow, what a great start. Either my laptop or the actual fm is not working properly. Has anyone had this problem? What is happening is that I cannot make subs in game. I can pick my team fine before the match but I cannot drag and drop my players around the tactics screen, making it impossible to play properly. Can anyone help? First updates will come when/if I can get this problem fixed. Thanks.

I have signed Cavani before and I agree he is awesome but the thing is he isn’t that young which is what my aims were, and as for fellaini I do not usually play with a DM. But I will consider pedro so thanks for the advice. How much do you reckon he would cost me?

I got Pedro for £17.25m. He was hardly getting a game and I wanted a winger to provide backup even though I had Valencia I thought I'll get Pedro as he's nice and young and his value is now £29m which is very good and if I do decide its time for him to go in a couple of years then I'll get a nice profit :)

Thanks. I might try him if I can even get the the thing to work!
Wahay! It’s fixed! Turns out it was a glitch where it wouldn’t work because I had created my own custom tactics……anyway, first updates come tonight!

thanks. Maybe you should make a story......then we can compare:0

Talking Tactics

I have chosen a wide 4 2 3 1 and a solid 4 4 2 as my main two tactics. I considered using a 4 4 1 1 as well, but as I wouldn’t use it much and I wanted to get the first two tactics to perfection ASAP I decided to wait. In a few months I might add it.

Talking Transfers

In: Iker Muniain – £18.75 mil (AMC)
Felipe Anderson – £5 mil (CM)
Son Heung-Min – £13 mil (ST)
Mats Hummels – £27 mil (CD)

Out: Ritchie de Leat – £3.2 mil

These are all good young players with lots of potential. I have spent quite a lot this summer, but hopefully now I won’t need to spend so big in future windows.
Also, I thought that Ritchie De Leat was surplus to requirements so I cashed in on him before his value dropped.

Pre-Season

Here are my pre-season results. Decent enough although it was disappointing to lose to Boca and only draw with Brighton. We were unlucky against Bayern so I wasn’t too worried about that.
Man Utd 5-1 Man Utd Reserves
Bray Wanderers 0-2 Man Utd
Brighton 1-1 Man Utd
Boca 2-1 Man Utd
Man Utd 1-2 Bayern Munich
Man Utd 4-1 Juventus
Antwerp 0-3 Man Utd
Hope fully all this will put me in good stead for my first competitive game against Man City in the Community Shield, coming tonight.
Good luck against Man. City mate! :)

Manchester City VS Manchester United-Community Shield

Line-ups: (4 2 3 1) De Gea
Smalling, Vidic, Jones, Evra
Anderson, Carrick
Nani, Rooney, Young
Hernandez
The game started slowly as neither team created much. Because of this at half time I instructed the boys to push forward, and also brought on local lad Danny Welbeck in place Javier Hernandez, who had been completely ineffectual all game. The results were instant and on the 48th minute a Welbeck shot rebounded to Young, who slotted home into an empty net. We then sat a little deeper and Welbeck and Young were exceptional on the break, until eventually Young whipped in a poorly defended corner in the 90th minute and Vidic threw himself at it to finish it 2-0.
Man of the Match: Ashley Young. (8.8)
So I have won my first trophy as Manchester Utd manager! Granted it is only the Community Shield but it feels good non the less. But can I keep up the winning ways in my first league game away to Norwich? Find out after the break.
