I'm curious if others have seen this, and/or whether it's an FM11 oddity (I've not played FM12, still working on an FM11 career; didn't see this particular behaviour in earlier years but to be frank I'm not sure it came up in the same circumstances).
When a really big club bids for one of your players - think Man City, Arsenal, that level - if you counter with an offer that's significantly higher, the club will almost certainly withdraw their interest. And then often come back later with a fresh offer that's even higher than the offer they declined! This seems quite odd to me... I wonder if there's something askew in the logic specifically in FM11 (the counter resets the valuation of the player; then the offering club later rethinks their interest and decides to offer over the valuation to have a better chance)?
Another interesting aspect of counter offers, it seems that performance-based add-ons are nearly always accepted. You can really improve the benefit to the club by asking for another fee for a certain number of league appearances, and yet another one for an attacking player for a certain number of league goals. Again... is this an FM11 oddity, or is it consistent?
