The next day I got a message saying there had being rumours that the Ipswich manager was after Hog Epraim, I was pondering on selling him as he seems to be a fan favourite. I was then told about another rumour that I was after Wolves winger Matt Jarvis. Then I got another rumour come in saying that the reading manager was after Jamie Mackie, our striker. As he was the 4th choice striker in the squad and in the reserves I made a statement saying: “As I have seen today there has being some interest in a player, Jamie Mackie. I will listen to any offers as this player is not key”
I also heard something about the person I offered for, Figueroa this info was that Sunderland had made a bid to secure his services but nothing has being accepted of late. I then heard word that Wigan want 4.5 Mil for Figueroa, I thought this was a good valuation so accepted these demands. I then transfer listed our third choice Goal Keeper, Radek Cerny. I went to check out the Man City squad as I knew they had some great prospects up for loan… Then I saw Balotelli was up for loan I swooped straight in and offered to loan him for the season.
We then launched talks with Figueroa’s agent and his terms looked ok so I accepted and then my assistant manager said to me “Would you like a squad friendly, you could check out the team? I said yes. We heard back from Man City with them accepting our Balotelli loan offer. I also put up Kieron Dyer up as he was our 5th choice Mid Center and Clint Hill.
I then got informed there had been four offers for our 3rd choice goalkeeper Cerny with offers from: Blackburn, Blackpool, Wigan and Real Sociedad all for 550k so I accepted them all and he could decide. I was in the interest of chasing Adam Bogdan as I think he is a real great goalkeeper.
