Wigan drew Man United in the FA Cup 3rd round. Swansea beat Fulham 3-1 in the League Cup quarter-final. So we will be playing against Swansea.

It is highly important that today we win as we lost our last game. Wiflried started the scoring after 3 minutes. He soon increased his tally after 12 minutes. He ended up completing his hat-trick on the 20 minute. Fulham score twice from Dembele and a penalty my Murphy. Dembele scored again to get both teams level. Wilfried had another say as he scored his 4th and 5th goal for Wigan. Piscu, Wilfried and Figueroa were booked. Man of the Match: Wilfried with a rating of 9.80.
Piscu will miss the next game because of suspension. While McCarthy and Wilfried were selected in the Team of the Week.

We took the lead after Caldwell headed home after a corner by McCarthy. Gomez was taken off injured. West Brom scored through Odewingie. Zezinho scores with a powerful shot in the 89 minute after receiving a pass from Di Franco. That is his first goal for Wigan. Caldwell is booked. Caldwell is chosen Man of the Match with a rating of 7.30. Gomez will be out for 2 to 3 weeks after suffering a groin injury.
League game: Sunderland H

We took the lead with a goal from Piscu, Brown made an own goal. Larsson scored a wonderful goal to get Sunderland back in it. Kirkland had an awful mistake by putting the ball inside his own net. Rodallega scored a penalty in the 82 minute. A hard working important victory. Man of the Match is Caldwell.
Our next 2 games are very difficult as we will be facing Liverpool and United.
League game: Liverpool H

Piscu scores a header with the corner from Crusat. On the 62 minute Gerrard scores to make the score equal. Crusat is injured and will be out for 2 to 3 weeks.
Caldwell is banned for a further 2 matches.

United win 3-0. With a brace from Hernandez together with a goal by Welbeck.
McCarthy comes 2nd in the Young Player of the Month. On positive news have signed El Kaoutari and youngster Sam Magri.

A 0-0 draw. We had a couple of chances but could not win the game. Over all played well and i think that a draw is still a good result as Bolton defended well and had some chances as well. Basically the game could have gone either way. I have to say that i’m happy with El Kaoutari’s debut as it was desent.
Our next match is in the FA Cup against Man United. I am looking at the possibility of buying a striker.
FA Cup: Man United A

In United’s start line up i could notice some youngsters in the squad together with great players such as Valencia, Anderson, Scholes and Park apart others. Still a good challenge for my team. We were really giving this game our best. Trying to open the scoring. In the begining of the second half, a fast attacking move resulted in Wilfried scoring an important goal. With the assist coming from Beausejour. Wilfried scored another after receiving a pass from McManaman. An a great victory. Piscu was booked. We also hit the woodwork twice. This victory means a lot to us and the fans. I have again defeated them in the cup competition, after earlier wining against them in the League cup.
We will be playing Stoke in the FA Cup Forth round.

Gomez returned to the starting line up after missing the last few games through injury. The first leg of the league cup semi final will take place in the city of Cardiff, which means that the returning leg will take place at the DW Stadium. It was a very hard fought match, were both teams gave it all their best. Swansea took the lead in the 63 minute thanks to an own goal by Piscu. Things got worse for Wigan as Kirkland had to be taken of injured and with no keeper on the bench Alcaraz stepped in goal. In the 84 minute Rodallega headed home after a perfect cross from beausejour. The match ended in a draw.
It is reported that Kirkland will be sent to a specialist and will be out for about 2 to 3 months with a hip injury.

Arsenal scored early in the game through Van Persie. Later on Piscu was sent off after receiving 2 yellows. Other players that received a yellow card were McCarthy, Stam, Figueroa, Rodallega. However Al Habsi did save a penalty from Van Persie late in the game.
