So usually when I play FM, I either go Heart of Midlothian (SPL, team I support) which is a bit of a chellenge as you don't have much money and have to beat the 2 Glasgow Teams (Rangers and Celtic), but I do ok. Usual manage to get into Europe and do ok domestically.
The other team I will often go is Liverpool. Lots of money, prestige, good reputation, etc.
This time round I really wanted to go for a different challenge and wanted to get into the game not to see the teams I support do well, but to really test my FM skills (I've been playing since the original game was released.
I opted to go Eastbourne Boro. They are a small team, 4000 stadium (not all seated), little to no money, awful players, in the Blue Square South league....I think you get the point.
I will provide screenshots of my game so far when I have time. I've played 3 seasons so far, used some good loans, scouted some excellent young talent (considering the league I'm in) and worked on my own tactics (nothing fancy, just a good, solid 4-4-2)
1st season - won BSS league - promotion to BSP
2nd season - gain promotion from BSP to L2 via playoffs and won FA Trophy
3rd season - got second spot in L@ - promotion to L1.
As you can imagine, I'm very proud of the job I have done, especially since every time I get promoted I'm expected to avoid relegation or just attain a respectable league position.
Now the game gets interesting. I'm nearly done with close season, brought in a few players, got rid of some players and am looking to replace some coaching staff. L1 will be a challenge and I expect to be in L1 for a few seasons. I'm hoping I can stay up, get some money, get a better reputation, get a bigger salary/transfer budget and then make a push for the Championship.
Stay tuned for league and player screenshots.
