Having won in the 1st leg, I decided to change my starting line-up. Jonny Evans got Man Utd ahead in the early minutes. The match eventually ended 1-0 and Man Utd progress to the final, winning 6-1 on aggregate. My youngsters played well and Phil Hoyte, a 16 years old promising striker made his first debut for Man Utd. Phil Hoyte is currently playing for the U18 squad.

Arsenal were the biggest spenders running up a total transfer bill of around £22.5M. Arsenal signed SL Benfica midfielder Milan Badelj for £20M. Tottenham defensive midfielder Sandro joined Inter for £8.5M. Bolton saw one of their centre back Gary Cahill headed to Juventus for £10.25M. Man City signed Dejan Lovren previously from Olympique Lyonnais in a £16M deal and they saw their centre back Stefan Savic joining Parma for £4.9M.
