Man Utd through to the next round after beating Stoke City 2-0. Vidic got Man Utd ahead early in the match and Hernandez scored late in the game to give Man Utd a comfortable win. Tom Thorpe made his first debut for Man Utd.

It was a very exciting game with Man Utd narrowly won the game 3-2. Lyon could have taken the lead early from a penalty spot but Fernandinho attempt was well saved by De Gea. It was Man Utd who took the lead through Subotic. Hernandez superb chip over the keeper from the edge of the box doubled Man Utd's lead.

Lyon came back strong and pulled one back before half-time and Lopez equalised through Claudemir's long throw. Man Utd players were having difficulty in defending Claudemir's long throw. Wayne Rooney was the match hero when he scored a curling effort from 18 yards. A good win but we have to avoid complacency in the return leg.

In what was a tensed match, Man Utd emerged victory by beating Stoke 2-0. Stoke were dominating in the first-half but it was all United in the second-half.
