well done managing to beat stoke city and incredibly unlucky to lose out to bayern munich!

That's a really superb run in Europe for an Irish side, you beat alot of bigger sides than Shamrock Rovers on your way to the Europa League semi's and only narrowly missed out against GIANTS Bayern Munich, well done

thanks patrick1 and gooner4eva, i was really pleased with the performances we put on against much bigger sides, and we really battled hard against Bayer Munich and got a respectable result which was also very pleasing.

Season 2 transfers and pre-season


Transfers

My team was already very strong when the pre-season transfer window came round, but i did identify the 4 weakest points in our starting 11, and with a massive transfer budget of £3m (mainly because of are £7m profit we made last season)i decided to act; with Abraham haveing finished his loan we had no real competition for the left wing spot. Are right back although he is a good player had suffered a lot with injuries so i though it would be a good idea to replace him and bring in a fresh young attacking right back. I also felt we needed a stronger left back as although C Powell had been solid he was the weakest link in are defense and got caught out in big games far to much, i also wanted a new right winger, and a striker who could add a little bit of competition for Twigg.

Peter Zlatinov - (500k) a 31 year old right winger, hes really a bit of an all rounder all his stats are quite high, and he would challenge for a place in the squads of a few English premier league teams. Although he was a little pricey i had been given a big transfer budget by the board and i think he could really help us go that next step in Europe.

Maris Verpakovkis - (free) a fantastic 32 year old striker he will really add something to the team, original i was just looking for someone to add competition to the squad and allow me to rest Twigg when we have key games coming up, but he's so good i will have to find a way to incorporate both players into the side.

Tom Soetaers - (free) another great free transfer hes a strong attacking midfielder who can play on the left and right side. Like Zlatinvo hes an all rounder there isn't anything he cant do.

Lorenzo Laverone - (100k) hes a great young (23) attacking right back. He can defend and attack with ease and is a steel at 100k.

Julio Colombo - i signed the 28 year old on a free transfer, hes solid defensively and can attack, he's going to be a key player this season.

Preferred staring 11 4-2-3-1 (carlos - Colombo, Gartland, Oman, Laverone - McCormack, Cervini- Twigg, Soetaers, Zlatinov - Verpakovkis) i moved Twigg out to the left to accommodate Verpakovkis in the team, and im sure he's still capable of racking up goals and assist from the right.

Pre-Season results

The pre-season is all about getting up match fittness and the results never really bother me but il post them anyway.

Well after a decent pre-season im looking forward to trying to win my first league title with Shamrock Rovers.

With the pre-season over my boys look to begin our title hunt with a few wins and get the points on the board as early as possible. The Irish League has gone over a sort of re form and there are now 12 teams in the league instead of 10, and 33 games instead of 36. The first 10 games went well, although some of the wins may not have been as emphatic as id hoped for. Ok so here are our results so far:

So we where looking strong and we had already opened up a 6 point gap.

I think we managed to secure some good transfers and we have started the league well. What do you guys think?
