New West Brom Josh Townend has wasted no time in building a West Brom side to challenge for an instant return to the Premier League.

He has pulled off a number of coups, including those pictured- Burnley's machine Jay Rodriguez joined for a reported fee of £2.5m, dynamo Rodolph Austin completed a £1.75m switch from Norwegian outfit SK Brann, Steven Caulker signed a 3-year contract for an estimated fee of £3m from to bolster the , and in goal the Baggies snapped up young Birmingham Jack Butland for £2m.

"They're a great bunch of lads" the gaffer said. "I was very impressed with what my scouts showed me. They've joined up with the rest of the and they're settling brilliantly. I have really high hopes for them"
AUGUST-DECEMBER 2013

The first half of the season has been very successful for Townend's promotion charges West Bromwich Albion. The standout performer has been new striker Jay Rodriguez, whose 16 goals in 20 league games puts West Brom in a very comfortable position which sees them in 2nd place, with 53 points from 23 games and an unbeaten half season at home, having recorded 10 wins and a draw at the Hawthorns.

"I'm very happy with the attitude that the lads have taken into this season so far. I couldn't have asked for a better start, now we must build on this tremendous start and carry our form into May."
JANUARY-MAY 2014- THE BAGGIES ARE GOING UP!

West Brom have built on their flying start to the season and now face an instant return to the Premier League. In addition to their promotion, West Brom also made good progress in domestic competitions, reaching the semi-final of the Capital One Cup as well as the quarter-final of the FA Cup where they held to Man City to a replay- eventually losing 1-0 in the replay at the Hawthorns.

Jay Rodriguez finished as the club's top scorer with 36 goals from 43 games which included an excellent hat-trick in an away game against his former club Burnley.

At the end of the year, West Brom finished at the top of the table with 91 points from 46 games, pipping Southampton at the post on the last day of the season by beating them 2-1 at home.

The club's player of the year was Rodolph Austin, who in 45 games, made 18 assists, scored 7 goals, won goal of the month award once, player of the month award 3 times, and scooped up 26 man of the match awards.

So, it all comes down to the inevitable question: where to next for Townend? Will he stay at West Brom and try and keep them in the Premier League, or will he seek another challenge elsewhere? Please post your answer below.
Planning on managing on every league in the world or something? ;) I think you should try and get a job at Barca and Chelsea really, considering they dive and go down like they've been shot, so you could teach them a lesson or two, you have played for Leeds after all so I'm sure you've committed your fair share of dirty fouls like the majority of Leeds players :P :))

Or I could just go to Man City and get the biggest tanks in the game to show the r*d lot what pain really is!
ENGLAND SACK CAPELLO AFTER RIO SHOCKER

http://forzaitalianfootball.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Fabio-Capello.jpg

The FA have today released a statement that Fabio Capello has been relieved of his duties as England Head Coaach after the Three Lions' early exit from the 2014 Brazil World Cup at the group stage. England finished 3rd in their group which consisted of them, Holland, Croatia and Colombia. England annihilated Colombia in their opening fixture 4-0, but were then beaten 1-0 by Croatia and 3-1 by Holland.

The current favourite to take the job is former England international Josh Townend who played in Italia 90, Euro 96, France 98, Euro 2000 and the 2002 World Cup in Japan/Korea. The former Leeds central midfielder was named captain during England's qualifying phase for France 98, but surrendered the armband before the World Cup due to a well documented personal rift with then England manager Glenn Hoddle. He is currently made 4/1 favourite by paddypower.com and 3/1 favourite by bet365. The second favourite is Bryan Robson who captained England at Italia 90, and is made 6/2 (paddypower.com) and 7/3 (bet365)
TOWNEND TAKES ENGLAND HOT SEAT

West Brom manager Josh Townend has taken the job as England manager, taking the biggest job in English football after Fabio Capello's exit following the team's poor performance at the World Cup in Brazil. He will still remain as West Brom manager, juggling between the two jobs.

He is said to be delighted at the prospect of picking up the pieces of England's humiliating exit and laying the foundations for a solid performance at Euro 2016 in France.
