Today is a sad day for world football especially for french football. One of the legends in world football has passed away. Paul Clement, the most successful manager in french football history has passed away peacefully at his residence yesterday night. Paul Clemet had build an empire with the french national team and made them an indomitable force to be reckoned with. I Phill Clement, son of Paul Clement is here to tell the story of this man(my father) on how he transformed a team in shambles to a team etched in french history. He did not only dominate french football but also to an extent the world football. Come relive the past and get to know the 'gaffer' in depth.

"I'm Paul clement. Born on 12 feb 1980 in lyon, i was a very passionate boy about football. I loved the game to the core and was a huge fan of the french football team. I was proud to be a supporter of FFF as they have produced some of the best players in world history in my generation. The likes of cantona, enry, zidane,thuram,viera and many more made the french national team proud. I followed my passion and became a football player at RC Lens. But my football career didn't take off and i decided to switch to coaching. Every thing was going well for me as i had risen up to the post of a head coach and also the french national team until a moment arrived. That moment as you all would know was the FIFA 2010 WC in SA. A certain Raymond Domenech was handling the team as if it was his circus. The tam responded and showed their discontent against their coach. A worst tournament was to follow and france were knocked out of the group stages. Domenech was sacked and Blanc was appointed as the new manager..."

Breaking News!!!

Blanc has decided to step down from the post of the manager of the French national squad. He stated the reason that he was unable to win the confidence of the people and politics was within the squad. This is a huge blow to the FFF as they have to find a new manager, a manager who could defy the so called 'politics' in the squad.


26 june 2011:

French Football Federation has notified that the search for their new manager has begun and the candidate will be thoroughly examined and interviewed as they want no more problems. Various big name coaches have been touted as possible candidates but a certain unknown name Paul Clement has seemed to be sprung up in the minds of the FFF.

The french football federation have appointed Paul Clement as the manager of the French National squad. The FFF seemed convinced with potential of clement after 2 days of interview. They hope this appointment will begin a new and successful chapter in French Football.

Lets see what Paul clement had to say to the media about his appointment:

"Well i'm delighted to have been appointed as the manager of the french national team and thank the FFF for the faith they have shown in me. I'm sure that we(Coaching Staff) and players can put the differences aside and build a solid future for French Football.

This was about my appointment as the manager of the French Football team. A Dream come true!!!

I set about my work from day one. My duty was to make the team Qualify for the Euro'12 which was the FFF initial expectation.

Looking at the table i knew that it was not going to be a problem.

I took a look at the national pool and noticed that we had a large amount of untapped potential, a bright squad(U'19 & U'21) coming up and i had to plan for the future with them.

I choose to set up the 4-5-1 tactic as i had solid midfielders and extremely good wingers, also by looking at the future squad.

Now my task is to decide the Captain and Vice Captain...
