So I have tried to get into my Dortmund save before, but I haven't really been enjoying it. So I am simply going to start it again. So here goes...

The Beginning

In shock announcements, Dortmund's popular manager Jurgen Klopp has resigned, with many of the press suggesting his departure was due to a lack of funds in the transfer market. With no manager in place, the Dortmund board had to get in a manager who will take them through the season and hope to guide them to success.

Step forward Joe Smith, a young English manager who has played 25 times for his country. Is this the man Dortmund need???

Competition Hopes

Bundesliga: 3rd/4th- I am hoping to qualify for the Champions League again at the very least this season as I sort of need to if I am going to be successful in building a world class side.

Champions League: Quarter Finals- I think that the quarter finals would be a reasonable aim this season. While my team is full of attacking class and central defensive strength, there is very little experience and know how in the squad, so I don't believe they will have the knowledge of how to win a major tournament, but we will see.

German Cup: Winners- Simple, let's give the fans a trophy to cheer!!!

Transfers

IN
With a feeble starting budget of just over £2m, and very few fringe players with a sell on value, I will simply have to be very smart in the transfer market, while also using the idea of spreading transfer payments. This will mean I can get in a few players in the key positions I need:

GK We might be alright in this department for the season as Weidenfeller is a very competent keeper, but I will have to get scouting for a top quality keeper to replace him next summer. In previous saves, I have noticed Rene Adler leaves Leverkusen on a free, but maybe someone like Marc Andre ter-Stegen Bernd Leno or Tim Krul could be the man in question.

RB Pisczcek is a very good right back, so I only need cover in that department, preferably someone who is young who can eventually replace him. Sime Vrsaljko, maybe?

CB Hummels and Subotic are two of the best centre halves in the world, and they are young so I do not need a replacement for them at the moment. Cover, in my opinion is a must, as Santana is the only one, and preferably someone either pretty young (19/20/21) or very old for experience (31/32), because either of them won't be asking for regular first team football in season 1. Maybe Kirchoff, Stefan Bell, Hubschmann or Rhodolfo.

LB A bit of cover for Schmelzer needed. Maybe GroBkreutz could be the answer, as he is competent in the position, so I will see. But maybe Eric Pieters, Ogbonna from Ajax, or Cheick M'Bengue.

CM There aren't any central midfielders who are full time at the moment, but I do not need them for my formation on a regular basis. Milan Badelj, Ytergard Jennsen and Markus Henriksen are players I am looking at.

WINGERS Attacking midfielders are not really needed as Kagawa, Gotze and Perisic are good quality, but I want a real out and out winger who can play on one of the wings and fire crosses into the box for me. I don't know if they are real wingers, but Belhanda and Luis Jiminez are two I am thinking of, and maybe Maxi Rodriguez.

OUT

Antonio da Silva, Florian Kringe and Chris Lowe are simply not good enough. So I will try to get as much as I can for them. Leitner is a good player, but I will not be playing him on a regular basis this season. I will let him out on loan but with a recall clause.

BASIC TRANSFER POLICY

Throughout the seasons, I want to try sign 5/6 young players to put into the U19 team to become first team regulars, but also 3/4 first team players, unless I feel my team needs more. Preferably, I would like to add to the young German team I have inherited, which would make players like Kirchoff, Marc Andre ter-Stegen and Stefan Bell signings that would fit this idea.

So, here goes...
If your looking for a centre back I suggest mikel san Jose .
I will have a look on him, thank you.

Transfers

IN

Markus Henriksen

A central midfielder, which is a position i was after. A young player to fit with the transfer policy i am hoping to implement, and he will go into the first team squad. Already, I have also signed Saul, Wesley Said and Mitchell Weiser and placed them all into my youth team. Chivas' Erick Torres has also agreed to join next summer, and my scouts believe he will be top quality. I hope he will be able to adapt to a central midfield role.

More news as things develop. In my first friendly, we won at Middlesbrough 4-2, with Lewandowski scoring a good hat trick.

Next post shortly.

Transfers

Sime Vrsaljko

So, after sending scouts on a mission for a young right back for not a lot of money, Vrsaljko was the best option. Quite versatile (he is 'competent' in a few positions), he will give good back up to Pisczcek and could replace him in a couple of years time.

Have also got in Lazar Markovic from next season on a £3.7m deal spread over 24 months. Also, I have got rid of a lot of dead wood from the U19 squad on frees, and have also got rid of some useless staff to bring in other people.

Next Match... Schalke, German Super Cup Final, Away.
yet another story with someone signing sime vrsjalko ;)

but good luck for the season. you should really be challenging for the bundesliga
well, he is a bargain, you can't argue with that can you??? ;)
yeah he is a bargain. ive never bought him though. due to the fact that everyone does ;)

Ilkay Gundogan (on 51 for Barrios, injured)

A brilliant start!! The pre match screen showed a draw and penalties was expected, and I too was expecting that as the clock ticked past 80. Then Lewandowski pounced with two finishes from inside the penalty box- brilliant!! Barrios got a mild injury (out for 4 to 5 days), and this seemed to be a blessing in disguise as I had to change my formation from an ellaborate 5-3-2 to a Barcelona-esque 4-3-3, with Kagawa and Gotze moving to the flanks as inside forwards and Gundogan moving into central midfield with Bender. The first goal was almost perfect from this aspect: Gundogan won the ball from Raul, ran into the Schalke half, sent a long ball out to Kagawa who whipped in a cross and Lewandowski poked it in at the front post.

I am still looking for a centre half to give good competition to Santana, and I am negotiating regarding Stefan Bell, Jan Kirchoff, Jan Verthongen and some guy from Rennes/Lille. My scouts also recommended Jussi Jaaskelainen, but I am not sure I want another old keeper to then get rid of two at the start of next season... a big decision.

Easy win, but expected. Not a lot to say about this really. Well done Lewandowski. I suppose 78% possession is good against whoever you are playing.

Currently in contract negotiations with Ajax's Jan Verthongen and having a look at Jelle Vossen to be back up to Lewandowski and Barrios because I may be using a 2 man frontline a lot this season.

Next Match... Koln, Bundesliga, Home

Solid win to start the season from the team. Felt like putting Perisic in the team instead of Barrios, don't know why, and I wish I hadn't really, because he had an absolute shocker: missed two sitters and gave away a penalty. He will be on the bench at best for the next match. Other than the penalty, my possession mentality didn't give them a sniff. Solid start.

In other news, Kehl is now a youth coach as well as playing as I believe he is a good influence on the team and therefore want him sticking around for a while. I have got a new assistant manager in of the name Jair Ventura from Botofogo. I think he has good stats in everything really.

Ilkay Gundogan (on 76 for Bender)
Jelle Vossen ( on 76 for Lewandowski)

What a comeback!! A real Jekyll and Hyde performance here- a shocking first half performance, it should have been much worse than only one goal, but after a rousing half time team talk, the team came out all guns blazing in the second half and destroyed them with precise passing and simply not letting go of the ball. A textbook header from a corner from Subotic wins the match for Dortmund, who now have 6 points from 6. I brought Vossen on for his debut with a quarter of an hour left to see if he could provide anything, and he had a couple of good efforts which, to say I had changed tactics to one I use to close out matches, is not too bad.

Next Match... Nurnberg, Bundesliga, Away.

Transfer

Jelle Vossen

I felt I needed a third striker in my squad to cover for Lewandowski and Barrios should injury or horrific form fall on them and in nothing games, but one who won't give a monkey's if he doesn't play often. At £1.7m, he isn't too bad really, so yeah, decent back up in my opinion.

I also cancelled deals for Vertonghen and Stefan Radu simply because I felt they were far too good to not be playing regularly, so I now negotiating with Kara, the young central defender and midfielder.

A young mexican called Espericueta was offered to me by some agent, and I had a look at him- he looks like he could be a real star, so I have offered him a contract which, if accepted, will see him joining Dortmund next summer.
DISASTER. computer had a crash, deleted save, nightmare. will start a new story...
