Well I’m back. I haven’t done a story for a while now, I needed a bit of a break after my not-so-successful attempts with Man Utd and Leeds but now I am hungry for another challenge. For that reason my chosen team is West Brom. I wanted the task of gradually moving a team forward, but without the massive expectation to do so that there is at teams like Leeds and Man Utd. For this story I will be giving an update every few matches with a summary of what I thought of the match and perhaps a brief overview of the tactics I used. Please enjoy reading and praise/criticize as you see fit.

Here are my general aims:
• To always achieve a higher league position than the previous season.
• To not needlessly buy players if they are not necessary. This is something that I have been guilty of in the past.
• To keep a closer eye on things like my wage budget and player training.

So here goes, pre-season and possibly transfer updates coming soon.
let the updates come then ! good luck

Pre-season

Ok so here are the pre-season results.

Rhos 0-3 West Brom
Sarpsborg 0-3 West Brom
Shamrock Rovers 0-0 West Brom
Birmingham 0-1 West Brom
Vélez 2-4 West Brom

Overall I am pleased with the results, as we were unlucky not to beat Shamrock Rovers and were excellent against Vélez. What I am most pleased about is the amount of clean sheets we kept. I honestly thought we deserved one against Vélez as they only had 3 shots in the game, but we scored 4 so I suppose it doesn’t matter too much.

Transfers

Having looked at the squad I think that we have surprisingly good depth in the squad, with two good players for almost all positions. So so far I haven’t signed anyone, but am on the lookout for a quality left back, which I feel is the weakest area of the team. I have also brought in my own backroom staff.
forget updates,sporting
Aston Villa 1-4 West Brom
We played really well today, but to be fair were helped along the way by some horrific defending by Villa. I played a deep defensive line to try to stop the pace Villa have up front from tearing me apart and it worked, Bent never had a sniff. Unfortunately though, both Mulumbu and Long will both miss the next game through injury.

West Brom 3-2 Sunderland
Despite only winning by one goal today, we far by far the superior team and Sunderland only managed 2 goals because of their infuriatingly clinical finishing. Tchoyi, in for Shame Long, played very well, and Odemwingie is flying at the moment having scored a hat-trick in the last game and grabbing the winner today.
