After Brendan Rogers decided he had done enough with Swansea, Chairman Huw Jenkins needed a new manager. This is the statement issued to the press and posted on the official website of the club.

The Media

Huw Jenkins: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Brendan Rogers took our clubs to heights we didn't imagine reaching so quickly, and we knew would have a tough time replacing such a talented manager. We were approached by a lot of experienced and established coaches, but the directors agreed unanimously that we needed a manager who provided something fresh and enigmatic, much like the team we have at our disposal.
The man who will be incharge of Swansea for the 2011/12 Premier League season is Akash Vidyasagar. He is gaining a growing reputation in the footballing world and we believe he is the right man for the job."

Behind Closed Doors

Huw Jenkins: "Come in and have a seat, Akash. We have some financial decisions to make."

Akash Vidyasagar: "I was hoping we would get to talk to you about our budget soon. I already have a couple of potential signings lined up."

Huw Jenkins: "Even with our promotion, we are unable to offer you with a substantial transfer budget. We have £5Million to spend and are pretty much on our limit when it comes to wages. It is a tough spot to be in, but with the promotion, a lot of the players had to be paid because of their clauses."

Akash Vidyasagar: "I need some flexibility in that department. We could distribute those £5Million into our weekly budget."

Huw Jenkins: "It is your money to spend - as you like. All we need from you is for our team to avoid relegation."
Rumours and Reality

"It is true that we had an interest in signing James Collison from West Ham, but the we couldn't match the price the club were asking for the player. Instead, we are in talks with veteran midfielder, Guti, to lend an experienced hand to our team.", said Swansea manager Akash Vidyasagar as he stepped out of his car, on his way to the training ground. There has been a lot of talk about potential signings for his club, with Craig Dawson and Jelle Vossen being the two most likely signings for the Welsh side.

The team seems to be doing well under their new manager, with a hammering 6-0 victory against their reserve side, followed by a 5-1 victory against ADO Den Haag.

Out of Character

Guys, hope you like what you have read so far, even though it isn't a lot. I have approached Guti and Dawson, and have been scouting a variety of cheap strikers. My scout says Vossen will take £1 Million, but his club is asking for £2.2 Million and refuse to come any lower. I don't know whether I should get rid of any of my players yet. I have another £1.5 Million to spend and maybe £20,000 in wages. Do you have any suggestions?
Official Website

We are proud to announce the signings of ex-Real Madrid star, Guti, and West Bromwich Albion youngster Craig Dawson to Swansea Football Club. Guti had been without a club for a couple of months and after some discussion with the Chairman and the manager, he signed on a one-year old with the club. Dawson, on the other hand, was bought into the Swansea ranks for a bargain £1.4 Million. The manager declared his interest in Georgian youngster Nika Kvekveskiri, but Dinamo want upwards of £1.5 Million for the 19-year old.
Victorious against all the teams faced so far, Swansea's sternest test comes Sunday, when Inter Milan come visiting to the Liberty Stadium for the Swans' penultimate friendly.
Rules and Appeals

After closely monitoring, scouting and negotiations, Akash Vidyasagar and his team of experts would engage in a challenging contracting negotiation with Nika Kvekveskiri's agent after a deal for £1.4 Million was accepted by Dimano. Both parties agreed terms and Kvekveskiri was ready to join the Welsh side when, surprisingly, his work permit got rejected; even the appeal was turned down.

So, overall, it wasn't a very busy preseason, with Guti and Craig Dawson being the only two signings.

And a very good run of games leads us right into our very first Premier League game - Chelsea.

Enjoyed reading this so far, I find Swansea & Norwich to be both underrated in the game compared to the seasons they had in reality, guess it shows even how good Paul Lambert & Brendan Rodgers are so I'm sure it will be hard work replacing Rodgers but good luck !!!!!!!
great amazing results in the pre-season! lets take that form into the season mate ;)
Dealing With The Press

When Akash agreed to a press conference before the Chelsea game, he was expected to be asked a lot of difficult questions about survival and life in the Premier League, but instead, most of the focus was on his signings, still.

Reporter:
Mr. Vidyasagar, our readers would like to hear more about your decision to sign two players, at the opposite ends of their careers. While Guti seemed ready to hang up his boots before you came calling, Craig Dawson is one to look out for, in the future.

Akash Vidyasagar:
That's precisely why I send those players - there are integral parts of my short and long-term projects at Swansea Football Club.

Reporter:
Does this mean you will be staying on as manager of the club even after your one-year deal expires?

Akash Vidyasagar:
This team's focus on on this season's performance and avoiding relegation, starting with our match this Sunday, against Chelsea.

Reporter:
Would you like to comment on the fixture list at all, Mr. Akash, especially since you have to play Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in the league, within a month?

Akash Vidyasagar:
Every match in the Premier League is unpredictable, and our team will be ready to take on any and all competition.

Pre-Match Talk

"This is a big match for us, our very first match in the Premier League. Although we are massive underdogs in this game, I am not expecting any of you to settle for a draw. We have been working really well in our training and it will pay off."

WIN 5-1
Scorers: Ashley Williams, Nathan Dyer, Scott Sinclair x2, Gylfi Sigurdsson. Drogba.

Press Release

We wouldn't be happier with our team's performance. The fans are jubilant and are extremely happy for the likes of Williams and Dyer doing well in the League. They are excited about the season ahead, hoping this was an exhibition of the team's talent, rather than a flash in the pan.
Chairman Comes Visiting

Jenkins: Well done, Akash. You just proved your doubters wrong in that match and now, they believe we can be more than just a side making up the numbers.

Vidyasagar: It was the team's hard-work, Mr. Jenkins. No tactic is good enough to completely outclass Chelsea without the determination of the team. They are very upbeat about facing Arsenal in a week.

Jenkins: What about Oldham, in the League Cup match? You know we can't afford to play our B-Side, like the big teams do and the directors demand the team making a respectable showing.

Vidyasagar: I will be resting a lot of the players that played the last game, but we will get through the round comfortably.

Scraping Through

Oldham put up a very good fight against a second string Swansea side. Routledge and Orlandi replaced Dyer and Sinclair, while Lita led the attack. Even the defence had Moreira, Tate and Bessone, who were absent last time out. The plan almost backfired, until Graham came in and rescued the match.

Win 2-1
Scorers: Graham (79), Agustein (82); Marsh-Brown (53)

Absolutely agreed. The team isn't as good as I thought it would be, proving how great of a job Rodgers did in reality. I like Swansea more than I did before I started this save, because of how much they over-achieved.
Hey guys. My steam shut off randomly, and FM12 got corrupted :/
Tried reviving my save but couldn't. I will restart my save, so that means my Chelsea and Arsenal hammering will be undone :(
Bear with me!
