I may have plugged the defensive hole picking up a young (read cheap wage demands) tall utility player, who can cover mid, defensive mid and centre defense. With the lack of money I was limited to dipping into the free transfer market though, so the player isn't startling!
On the striker front, I can't find anything in the free transfer market, and any loans I can pick up don't move until 1 Jan '14, which is four months away.
What rubbish the fitness coach advert through up at me. Fitness stats between 4-6. I've kept running the advert.
I think I have made another blue, I've got my utility player Linda Sithole; BUT....

I'm not sure I can register him until Jan '14, which is when the window re-opens.
Zimba, my young unwanted left winger, has just rejected a contract offer from Batau FC.

Not enough money apparently!
In the lead up to our semi final appearance against FCAK, we may see our largest ever crowd. 14K tickets have been sold at this stage.
For the first time in my tenure, we are favourites going into the match, albeit only slightly.
In front of 14,274 screaming supporters, Dynamos managed to absolutely thump, or f**k, FCAK.

Again, we didn't dominate possession, but with Mashego putting four past the opposition keeper, and Hammers and Ramudzuli chipping in with one a piece, we were able to show our control and finishing ability as we ran riot in a 6-1 win.

New signing Sithole debuted in the match (although I am still not sure whether he will be able to play in the club until the window opens) and FCAK defender Moonsamy scored a late consolation goal for the visitors.
It's another one of those bad news, worse news type situations.

Bad news is that we will be playing the SA National First Division Cup Final away to Batau Killers FC. I'm disappointed about losing the gate take, but I am sure that the players will cope.

Worse news, I have the club captain, Jo Mahlangu upset that he isn't getting game time - he is a winger after all. Nothing I said could appease him, and he's stormed off in a dirty great huff.

I'm now replaced him as captain with young goalie Masabo, but that seems to have created huge problems with the squad - even Masabo isn't happy!!!
Not quite a full blown mutiny yet, but Masabo is stressed about the pressure and ninety percent of the squad think I was too quick to replace Mahlangu.

Hindsight tells me not to make decisions in the heat of the moment without thinking through the consequences first. I should have sold Mahlangu and then appointed a new captain.
I am beginning to think the first month was a honeymoon period, where I won games and didn't have staff issues.

Seems that Sanudi is now a citizen and not classed as an overseas player! Only issue is now is transfer listed by request and unregistered for the league competition until Jan.

Does anyone know whether this is normal? It's certainly something I didn't see coming!
PR coup over before it began.

Mahlangu is still unhappy, but he had suitors interested in signing him

Sanudi (or his agent) is not interested in signing a new contract, perhaps not unsurprisingly given that he was transferred listed by request, but he is now tutoring Masabo.

I'll still be looking for a keeper and a striker in the window.
I have convinced the Board to increase the number of scouts I can employ and our scouting range.

Next step will be to ask for more wage budget.
We can now employ seven scouts and can scout the contingent. Whether I can find any scouts worth employing is a moot point, as the search for oft requested fitness coach is not progressing as I could have liked it.

September progress

Highlights
Training, despite the lack of a fitness coach is showing positive signs, with Onana, Gomis and Masabo particularly impressing.

Board has been highly supportive of my recommendations as Manager and has implemented measures without haste.

Record crowd number present at Cup semi final match against FCAK

Currently second on the league table, with a 4-3-1-0 record for the month of September

Best goal difference in the league
Wages within budget and transfer funds untouched, but loss of 5K for the month

Board satisfied with management of the club, with rating at 52%, and is pleased with the signing of both Gavin Hammers and Brandon Barkhuizen.
