Welcome to my story.

My goal is obviously to achieve as much as possible throughout my story, all will be untouched, apart from season 11/12 transfers. At the moment I am running only the English leagues, but throughout the story I’d be open to suggestions in terms of managing teams abroad, tactics, and players, effectively you can become my assistant manager.
Above all I hope you all enjoy Rayne Kennedy’s journey, this is my first story and one of many I hope...I will try to make as much updates as possible, with content.

Starting off unemployed qualified manager Rayne Kennedy is on the lookout for a new club to take charge of.

After declaring my interest in numerous clubs around England including Kettering, Preston, Gainsborough, and Luton; a vacancy popped up at the beginning of October in the Blue Square Premier.
The position was at Cambridge United who were sitting 14th in the BSP, former manager Jez George was sacked by the Cambridge board after an unconvincing run of games, the last being a 1-0 loss to Tamworth. The board were clearly unimpressed considering the team have a media prediction of 5th. The task seemed quite daunting being Jez George was sacked after only three months, and Cambridge was his first venture into football management.

The board have decided to approach me, and had offered a one year contract worth £800 per week.

Managers Thoughts: My first game in charge, so I’m looking for a decent display from the team. I’ve only had three days with the lads, so the team will not be used to my style of play, but we have the whole season to adjust. I want a win, but as it’s the first game, I’ll settle for a draw.

I see you opted to go for the popular ''unemployment challenge'' I had never heard of it until recently as I've not long been on this forum but it's something I will be interested in doing myself possibly when FM13 comes out. Managers Thoughts:
A very pleasing victory, we went a goal down midway through the first half which was conceded against the run of play, but after a hard half-time team talk the lads picked themselves, and it was only a matter of time before we got back into the game albeit from the penalty spot. The late winner from Marriott was more than deserved, and came after a brilliant piece of technique and vision from R. Jackson who claims the assist. Its only the first game, and can see what improvements are needed. We play Grimsby in a few days we’ll need to be solid and have to concentration for the whole 90minutes, there a good team currently 8th so they also will be looking to push on also.

Darlington Boss Craig Liddle, claims the penalty conceded against Cambridge should never have been given but refuses to complain due to risk of F.A. action

F.A. Cup 4th Qual. round drawn, and Cambridge will face Corby at home on the 29th October

Mitchell Hancock of the youth team was offered his first professional contract worth £100 per week subject to clauses and bonuses

Tom Shaw is out injured for approx. 2 months with a sprained ankle, the injury was received on the training ground. Shaw is said to be disappointed in not having the chance to further impress new boss Rayne Kennedy.

Cambridge have welcomed new scout Steve Jones to the backroom staff, his main duties will include scout reports on the next opposition team.

Manager Rayne Kennedy has decided to look at free agent Micheal Woods. The young English midfielder who was recommended by new scout Steve Jones, has been looking for a new club since being released by Chelsea, the player is said to be of nPower League 1 quality.

Keiran Murtagh failed to impress in his last match against Cambridge reserves, Murtagh who is currently on loan at Woking from Cambridge had a game he'll quickly want to forget and was rightly subbed of 59mins into the match.

Team News:

Cambridge have been drawn against Woking in the F.A. Cup 1st round. Cambridge have been drawn as the home team, and qualification to the next round should be on the cards for the Blue Square Premier team as Woking on paper are surely the weaker team.

John Coulson has been banned for 1 match following his red card against Mansfield

After a meeting with board members Rayne Kennedy was able to get permission to seek out a parent club, Kennedy is keen to improve his teams finances and sees the partnership with a higher staus team a step in the right direction.

English midfielder Michael Woods has agreed a 2 year contract with Cambridge United, he will become Rayne Kennedy's first signing. The player arrives as shock to the team, players and fans alike were expecting fresh face to be brought in during the winter transfer window. In a statement by Kennedy he told journalist 'Michael arrives with a fine recommendation, he hasn't played for a few months, but i'm sure he cant wait to join up with the rest of the squad in training'.
