It has been barely a day since i stepped down from the post of National team manager. Having passed on the reigns to one of my good old friend now i feel more relaxed. But suddenly now and then i get a strange feeling, a feeling which cannot be expressed by words. After all the success i had at Bordeaux its a hard feeling to imagine the position i'm now in.

Well having digested all that feelings i decided to take my dog for a walk. Just as i reached the door my phone rang. Picking up the phone to see who the caller was it was the last person i would have guessed who would call me, Roman Abramovich!!!

Roman:Hello Blanc, Hope i'm not disturbing you?

Me:No not all.. its a pleasant surprise that you have called me.

Roman:Well i'm sorry for what happened with france. The reason i called you was that i want to make you an offer.

Me:An offer???

Roman:Yes, an offer to manage Chelsea F.C

Me:[speechless]Thank you very much Mr. Abramovich, but i need some time to think about it.

Roman:Fair enough i'll give you days time.

Me:Thank you Mr. Abramovich Will contact u tomorrow.

Well this call made me forget about the tasks i had to do the whole day. An offer to manage Chelsea is a once in a life time offer and to let that go would be foolish decision. Now my mind was really confused.

The whole day had passed. I consulted with my former colleague Desailly who had played for Chelsea. Well it was time for decision making. Yes or no.. Now or never..

I slept hoping to reveal my decision tomorrow to Abramovich.
It was the day of the big decision. I called Mr. Abramovich.

Roman:Yes Blanc, have you made your decision?

Me:Yes Mr. Abramovich, i have decided to accept your offer.

Roman:Good Blanc if you can come to my office we can discuss contract details.

Me:Yes Mr. Abramovich i'll come right away.

Well for many of the onlookers it might look as an easy decision. But in truth it is a really difficult decision to make especially for me. Having just come from a tribulant period to take a job that posts greater risks is a tough job. But i made my decision. I told myself its "Time to move on". This is a big chance for me to resurrect my career and this is an opportunity i don't want to let go off.

Now i'm off to England and hopefully have a successful period.

"Is Blanc the new Chelsea Manager?"

Roman Abramovich has reportedly changed his manager target from PEP to former France manager Blanc. After reports of Blanc being sighted in london it is beleived that Blanc will be the new manager of Chelsea.
Chelsea appoint David Moyes as Manager.

Well this might come as a surprise to you all but it is the fact. I was in London for just two days. Yes we could not reach to a conclusion and i thanked Mr. Abramovich for the offer and his patience. I returned home immediately. As i came home i was greeted by an old boss of mine at the Airport. It was the chairman of OM. As we went Home he offered me the job at OM and Full control of the team. It was an offer i could not refuse as OM are a club close to my heart. I decided to accept the offer then and there.

We drove straight to the office and completed the formalities without any fuss. The Chairman called for the press conference tomorrow to announce my appointment.

I went to bed recalling the week. What a hectic week it has been for me. From stepping down as national manager to almost taking up a dream job instead ending up in one of your most cherished clubs. This is what life is.
OM appoint Laurent Blanc as new manager.

Press Conference:

Q: You stand here unveiled as the new OM manager. What are your feelings given that you were also the captain of the club in your playing days?

A:Well its a tremendous feeling to return to the club that is close to me. I had great success here as a captain and hopefully i can have the same success here as manager.

Q: You replace Deschamps who has taken up your post as France manager. It looks like a straight swap. What are your feelings?

A:Didier is a good friend of mine and i'm pleased that he has taken up the post as manager of the national team. That's all i can say.

Q: What are your thoughts on the transfer market? Any specific players you like?

A: I'm not prepared to answer the question now. Thats something i'll have to discuss with the Chairman

Q: Your are pitted against the spending power of PSG. Your thoughts on that.

A:Money don't win you matches. Your best chance of winning is with the 11 players on the pitch. I hope that answers your question.

Q: Last one. You had a successful time at GB. Not so much as manager of France. What do you expect at OM?

A:Hopefully with the backing of the chairman and the fans we can create a new successful era in the history of OM. "Droit au but"
