FC Anzhi Makhachkala (Russian: ФК "Анжи" Махачкала) is a Russian football club based in Makhachkala, capital of the Republic of Dagestan. Founded in 1991, the club plays in the Russian Premier League. Anzhi's home ground is the Dinamo Stadium situated in Makhachkala. The word "Anzhi" (in Kumyk language means "pearl") - is an ancient Kumyk name of the area that is now the city of Makhachkala.

welcome to Anzhi

Breaking news coming from Anzhi Makhachkala as Suleyman kerimov has announced that Guus Hiddink has left his post as manager due to personal reasons. Not long after Hiddinks decision to leave Kerimov has appointed talented manager Shane Swanston on a 2 year deal worth $33,000 a week.

after talks with the chairman about where we think we'll finish i have been given $50m in which to sign players who i beleive will move this club forward..

my first job is to take a look through the first team , reserves and under 18's and determine who has and hasnt got the required ability to move the club forward
Anzhi has announced the release of 3 first team members that i feel have not got the ability to help us succeed. the players released were Magomed Gamidov , Yury Udunyan and Alexiy Igonin, we would like to wish all these players the best for the future.

we have declared interest in highly rated midfielderder Yann M'vila from Stade rennes, whether he will opt to join us will remain to be seen. there are rumours circulating around russia that Anzhi are also preparing a monster bid for Robin van Persie for when his current contract runs out at the end of the current season

we wold also like to say we are in advanced talks with Santos for the services of young goalkeeper Rafael. nothing else will be said until negotiations are completed and the players have signed
Make sure that you buy a couple of good young russian players, because you can only play a certain amount of foreigners! Good luck!

RVP? Will he come to you?
Alexandr Kozlov is a nice young striker.
Anzhi have announced the signing of young Brazilian goalkeeper Rafael from Santos for a fee believed to be $15m + $13m in installments.
Rafael has stated that he is very happy to be joining Anzhi Makhachkala and is excited about the project currently being applied to the club

Whilst in other news the draw for the third qualifying round of the Europa League has been made with Anzhi to face either Metalurg Skopje or Aktobe

looking at the teams weve been handed ill be looking for a strong performance no matter the opposition
we have recieved some big news from Scotland today as reports claim a mystery tycoon is in negotiations with Motherwell chairman Derek Weir. Scotland could never be the same again ...
Will Motherwell be the new Celtic??

What background has your manager got? Great work in bringing Rafael to the club!!!

Russian Premier League
Anzhi vs krasnodar ( 2-1 )
Kuban v Anzhi ( 5-0 )
Rubin Kazan vs Anzhi ( 1-2 )

a mix bag of results to say the least. the disappointing 5-0 loss to Kuban obviously the low point of the month but i feel we responded well with the win over fellow title contenders Rubin Kazan

Russian Cup
Metalurg Lipetsk vs Anzhi ( 0-3 )

a comprehensive victory against a team we were suppose to beat so im very happy with the result and we now move into the next round where we will face Lokomotiv Moscow

UEFA Europa League
Anzhi vs Aktobe ( 3-0 )
Aktobe vs Anzhi ( 0-5 )

Oo Anzhi have marked there first two european games with devastating wins. even though the opponent wasnt of the highest quality.
after our win against Aktobe in the last round of qualifying. we have been drawn against Olympique Lyonnais who i believe would be considered one of the favourites for this competition. ill be making a few tactical changes for these matches to try and pull off a shock result
Christopher Samba and Jucilei have both recovered from there long term injury and will now be available for our reserve squad to get back up to match fitness. ill be hoping to include both players within the coming month
Anzhi Makhachkala today have announced the signing of belgian international Radja Nainggolan for a fee beleived to be around $23m. Radja has already stated that he is overjoyed to be joining Anzhi and cant wait to work for Shane Swanston

Radja is the final piece of the puzzle that i was looking for in order to challenge on the continental stage. and is also the final foreign players we will be signing this season , so ill be sending the scouts out to have a look at promising ruusian players to join the club

In other news. talks between the foreign tycoon and Motherwell chairman Derek Weir have broken down. so no more news on that matter for the time being
How is your back room in general Shane? Have you got decent scouts to send out?
sorry guys . this file corrupted last night during my second leg against Lyon i was currently leading 1-0 on aggregate from the first leg. this story wont be continuing
