Shock as Roberto Mancini Resigns as Man City Manager

The Football world was left in a state of shock earlier today as Manchester City's Italian boss drew curtains on his time at the club - a reason why he did this has not yet been confirmed. Journalists say that this could spark a chain reaction at the club as many players will want to leave alongside the popular manager.

It is said that the Manchester City board have put together a shortlist as to who will take the reigns as the new boss already. It is believed that the unsettled Barcelona boss: Josep Guardiola could be on this list.

This move from the Italian could prove pivotal in the clubs near future as he was a loved figure in the blue side of Manchester. The fans are expecting a capable replacement.

City fans left angry as the club's board appoint Toon

Anger was the reaction of the supporters as the club's board former Luton Town and Stevenage midfielder Craborum Toon who has no managerial experience to his name as the new gaffer. A week after Roberto Mancini's shock departure the anticipation as to who the new boss would be was huge with all the Newspapers saying Josep Guardiola would be the man for the job but all this was left to an anti-cliax as they appointed Toon.

Start of Season Expectations

After a discussion with board we have agreed that the team should be challenging for the Premier League title. This is a big ask in my first managerial job but I am up to the challenge.

City Trio first to depart

Carlos Tevez - Inter (24m)
Nigel De Jong - (12m) Arsenal
Edin Dzeko - Malaga (19m) 10m over 12 months.

Although I tried my best to keep them - the offers for these palyers were too good to turn down plus Tevez and De Jong handed in Tansfer Requests.

City splash the cash on Hamsik and Huntelaar

I am delighted to confirm the double signing of Marek Hamsik (29m) from Napoli and Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar (32.5m) from Schalke. The fans our delighted by these 2 signings (especially Hamsik) and our looking forward to seeing what kind of an impact they will have.

Marek Hamsik

Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar

Meanwhile Alexander Kolarov has gone on loan to AC Milan for a fee of 1.9m and Gareth Barry to Atletico Madrid
for 6m.

As a result of the many players I have sold, my transfer budget has risen to 70m.
That's quite a lot for Huntelaar! I wouldn't pay that much!

I see what your saying but his amazing stats persuaded me. :)
I don't see why u would sell de jong ?

I let him go because that would raise funds and his pre-season performances were dreadful. There are much better young defensive mids out there so I should be bringing one in soon. Also he didn't want to stay at the club.

Pre Season: Settling in

Dundee Utd 1-3 Man City
Falkirk 0-6 Man City
Man City 2-0 Stuttgart
America (MEX) 1-4 Man City
Burton Albion 0-7 Man City
Al Jazira 1-1 Man City
Panathinaikos 1-4 Man City

A pleasing Pre season in all and the players seem to be responding well to my tactics. My two new signings are settling in well and put in some solid performances in pre-season.

The team looks raring to go for the new 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season. :P

Formations

I will this formation against stronger teams with attacking threat. However it is still a reasonably attacking formation as I still want to have a go at these teams.

I will use this formation against teams that are weak at the back and who I want to attack. I am still wary of their attacking threat though so I have kept 4 at the back still.

Both Formations have been well trained up in pre-season and the players are used to them.

Toon bags first trophy through nail biting Community Shield showdown

City 0-0 Man Utd - City win 2-1 on penalties.

Not a bad way to start my career as Manchester City gaffer as the team beats arch rivals United through penalties. It was astonishing how penalties had to decide the 2 sides as we dominated the whole match. We rattled the woodwork 5 times and had 2 Huntelaar goals disallowed. However justice was done through penalties as the noisy neighbours kept their composure.

City

Micah Richards
Klaas Jan Huntelaar (out for 3/4 days with dead leg)

Micah Richards (8.7)

City add talented youngster Costa in 3rd signing

This lad has fantastic potential and it is predicted that he will become a Premier League star in a few seasons time. He will go straight into the first team.

I am hoping to bring in at least one more player in the summer window. :P

August: Consolidation

Man Utd 3-1 City PRM

This result was a harsh reflection on our performance on the day. The game changer was David Silva's red card which caused United to take the lead through Hernandez. However when Adam Johnson clawed one back for 10 man City after 84 minutes, it looked as if the Manchester Derby was heading to a draw but United's extra man advantage proved vital as they scored 2 on the counter through Rooney and Berbatov.

Stoke 1-2 City PRM

Well if I'm going to be honest, this wasn't a vintage performance at all but 2 goals of quality from Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Samir Nasri (Their first goals for the club) sealed the win.

All in all a decent month and hopefully we can build on this to make September a very fruitful month in the league.

September: Climbing the Table

City 3-0 Trabzonspor Champions GRP F

We passed the Turkish side of the park here and our finishing was deadly with Huntelaar leading the attacking show scoring a brace. The man of the match and metronome: Marek Hamsik fittingly scored a 25 yarder
to finish the scoring for the Centurions. Marek Hamsik (8.8)

Swansea 0-0 City PRM

This was most certainly 3 points dropped as we had numerous shots and chances on but just couldn't take them - David Silva a particular culprit of this. Micah Richards (8.1)

Machester United 1-1 City (City 4-2 on penalties) Lge Cup 3rd round

Again it was only penalties that could separate these 2 sides. After a James Milner equaliser deep into Extra Time, Samir Nasri kept his cool to score the in the shootout from 12 yards.

3-1 Spurs PRM

This was our best performance to date - we completely dominated this spurs side and passed them of the park - Marek Hamsik again set the tempo with his creativity and passing ability. The goals came from Douglas Costa (His 1st for the club) with a superb long ranger, Lescott with a diving header and Aguero with a close range finish. Sergio Aguero.

OM 0-4 City Chamions Lge grp F

Well a first class display epitomsied by a superb Klaas Jan Huntelaar hat rick. This puts us on top of our group.

In summary this was a very good month for us and if it wasn't for the Swansea it would have been even better. We climbed from 11th to 4rt in the league which is a great improvement.
