Roman Abramovich has reportedly sacked Andre Villas Boas due to rumours that he has been sleeping with the Russian's wife. To replace AVB he has brought in Connor Newman who is a unknown face to football but the Russian owner has stated that Connor is a close friend of his and has the upmost confidence in him to perform.
In my first Press Conference as manager I stated that I want to bring attractive football to the club and I believe Chelsea have a strong chance in all competitions this year with the players available, but I also commented that I would be looking to bring new faces to the club.
My first job was to choose the formations Chelsea were going to be using so they could start practising in training to get familiar with the new tactics.
I chose 4-1-2-1-2, 4-5-1, 4-2-3-1 as I believed these formations would bring the best out of my players.
Pre Season Results.
After a good pre season Im now confident of a good start to the Premier League season. Fernando Torres topped the pre season goal chart with 9 goals and was closely followed by ageing but quality Ivorian striker Didier Drogba with 6 goals.
Transfer Details.
I have signed a couple of hot prospects to prepare for the future, I hope we can nurture their skills so that in the future they can be quality players for Chelsea.
I have also made a solid investment in Marek Hamsik who is a quality midfielder that plays very similar to that of Frank Lampard, In pre season he has impressed and has made a solid partnership with Lampard in the centre of midfield. New signing's Erick Torres, Yaya Sanogo and Leandro have gone on a season long loan to feeder club Vitesse to improve their skills as they are not needed for the first team at this time.
We have also had to say goodbye to Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda, two players that just didn't fit into my plans, all of us at Chelsea hope they can further their careers at their new clubs.
