Michael Laudrup

Swansea City are delighted to announce the appointment of highly rated Moroccan manager Adil Qayyum who will be taking charge of the Swans on a two year contract.

This appointment follows the dismissal of Michael Laudrup whom, after a series of shocking results and a public desire of moving to manage a larger club led to him being given the sack. However we are quick to thank Michael for offering his services to become Adil Qayyum's advisor until the transfer window ends which Adil gladly accepted.

(Meeting between Michael and Adil)

Adil: Good evening Mr Laudrup.

Michael: Good evening Adil, following these two months I will be handing you advice I have acquired from managing Swansea and will be advising you on some of signings you should make.

Adil: Wow, that would be great. Erm.. I was wondering whether you could give me the names of the those players.

Michael: Ahh but they aren't all players. Firstly I would like to acquire the services of Steve Clarke a youth coach at Stoke City whom I believe would be an excellent head scout.

Secondly when you join a club you naturally want to make a good impression to the fans say a marquee signing but having just come up from the English Second Division a couple of years ago I believe you do not have a lot to spend isn't it?

Adil: That's true Huw Jenkins (chairman of Swansea City) only gave me around 11.5m to spend on new signings after I stated my ambitions of avoiding relegation and obtaining a top-half finish.

Michael: Well I suggest you sign the pair of Alessandro Del Piero the Juventus legend who has a ability rating on his report card who will revolutionize the way Swansea football will be played and his Italian counterpart Marco Materazzi who is infamous for his part in the Zidane fiasco in the 2006 World Cup Final, but don't let that fool you although he is 38 years old he can give your defence vital experience on how hard it is to compete for European Honours. On his report card it shows he has ability.

Adil: (Frowning) And er how much will these two world-class players cost me Mr Laudrup?

Michael: Aha I was waiting for you to ask that, both are free transfers after leaving Juventus and Inter respectively and both will probably ask for wages between 20-25k a week. Does that sound good to you Adil?

Adil: That sounds fantastic Mr Laudrup I will fly out to Italy tomorrow to discuss contract terms with them.

Michael: No need Adil I've already invited them over to Wales yesterday and they should arrive about now in this room.

Adil: Oh but I need to ask my assistant manager to help me discuss terms with the players.

Michael: I'm your assistant manager for now.
