UNKNOWN COACH LANDS LUTON JOB

Little known coach Josh Townend has landed the manager's job at Blue Square club Luton Town. What we understand is that the 46-year-old played for his local sunday league side from the age of 18 until 38, playing as a central defender and well known around his hometown of Pudsey in Leeds for making the captain's armband his own, landing the envied role at just 21.

When he retired from playing, he got his coaching badges and has made it to the top at the side he once played for, starting off by coaching the under 11s at age 32, and making his way up to the first team, managing them to back-to-back league titles.

The appointment will come as a surprise to many, with his small reputation, but there is no doubt that this man looks like he's going places and his journey starts here with the high pressure task of getting Luton back into the Football League at the third time of asking.
